Cats vs Cards

NOW we are starting to look like a typical Mingione team.
Walks. Wild pitches. No effort. Terrible approaches and ABs.
This is what I am used to and it just is what it is.
Everybody else was right that we were incredibly lucky to start out with the slate we did. Now we play real competition and most of our losses will likely look similar to this. 7-1, 8-3, etc.
It is gross and I am so sick of being disappointed.

As far as I know he does not. Can't even get the kids in his own area much less the rest of the state.
They got a kid who is a starter for them from Livermore. Other than the kid’s parents, I never knew of a U of L fan in McLean County. If the kid is good enough to start at U of L, he should be at UK.

This is something I noticed last night. Now, Ill admit I wasnt at the game. But from watching it on TV Kentucky just looked flat. I didnt see a ton of emotion or energy. And if you cant get hyped up playing your in-state rival, then that is a problem. But something has happened to this team since that Georgia game on Sunday.

IU is now projected as a t16 seed . We run ruled them and they bombed U6. UK has the #1 RPI and #2 SOS. Our schedule is anywhere from being bogus. Coaching, coaching, Coaching. You are correct though in that the schedule is getting ready to be monstrous and may be this teams undoing if they fold.

Does the postponed game get rescheduled for Tuesday May 2nd? Or will it be cancelled? Anybody over here heard anything?

I never said the schedule was putrid. But the fact remains we started out with:
-Miss. State who is 12th/14
-Alabama who is still decent but sitting at 9-9
-Missouri who is 12th/14
-Georgia who is tied for 11th/14 and we still lost the series.

THAT is how we were "lucky" in that regard. So to go through that and now be sitting at only 11-7 with Vandy, SC, Tenn, Florida left?
Well, good luck Charlie.

I was at the game. Absolutely outstanding crowd, and we totally wasted it.

-Horrible plate approach all night. We kept looking at pitches 1 and 2 for strikes.
-This is NOT a vintage UL team, and there's no reason we should be losing to them like that.
-UL does still have great speed in the outfield and we simply could not get much past them.
-Smith was great, and so was Hagenow. We held UL down for quite a while, but the dam burst in the seventh.

Really really disappointing loss. I hate to think about what's coming next.

Answer me a question if you can. It seemed to me on watching on TV that UK, for a lack of better word, was checked out. Didnt see a ton of emotion if any. Was that the case or was it just camera angles?

Thought this as well with the early base running blunder. Dead in the water.

The team looked flat. It’s hard sometimes in a long season to get guys up for certain games… but not this one. It’s UL. They have owned us and been a far superior program to ours for about the last 15 plus years. We should have been gnawing at the opportunity to light them up… especially this year… at home… only mtg.

Last night was concerning.

It's hard to say. I thought the team and crowd were very flat against A&M on Saturday. Against UL, the crowd was amped. The team seemed to be amped when we got the lead-off man on board in the first but then we had the inexplicable fly out and Jackson Gray was already headed to third for the double play. That seemed to take some air out of the balloon. The place was electric again when GIlly snared the ball out of the air to keep UL from scoring with bases loaded In the 4th(?).

Just could not get any baserunners and nothing going at the plate. I don't think the team was flat, was just hard to get too excited.

Even if there was a convenient date, I have to think UK is not real anxious to add another really tough road game to the schedule at this point in the season.

Agreed. There's no reason to play this game if you're UK. Our schedule is already murderous. Also, we had our home game against UL washed out last year with no makeup so there is precedent for not rescheduling.
