Cats vs Cards ( Tues. )

Cleary is awful. Not sure how he is a high-major pitcher. This inning is a disaster. Walks, fat pitches, still no outs.

just a disastrous inning. Ugh. On our way to steamrolling them, but give up 5 runs in the 6th. Let's hope the bats get going again in the bottom of 6.

Better add more runs. 11 may not be enough. 11-7 and Louisville looks to have found a pitcher that is dealing.

Salow is the man, Pop can be good at times, Schenzar usually starts fast but tails off. Mchammer is going to be a good one IMO.

I think really the problem with them except for Salow has been consistency. Pop can be lights out or just terrible and it can change in a hurry. Most the others are pretty similar to that.

He sure did, I think they run him out there in the 9th, or maybe get Salow an inning.
Rather see Pop again unless a runner or two get on.

I'm a fan of continuing to use a guy who is hitting his spots and pitching well rather than changing arms frequently.

Going to Salow. Would have liked to stick with Pop and rest Salow after the long outing.

Great win. Really could have been a dominant win, but I won't cry over spilt milk. Great to see the amazing crowd too, even with the rain.

We have got to have someone step up between Pop and Salow. I like Pop for about about 3-6 outs, but not much more than that. I think he is a great setup man or a great pitcher to get some outs. I think one of the problems is that we don't really have a guy who can come in as a middle reliever and get those hard outs with runners on. I think Cleary is all right as someone who can eat up an inning in the middle, but he isn't a guy who we call on to get those desperation outs. We have some people who can somewhat step up, but they are young and inexperienced and not very consistent.

Great win gentlemen!!!...all I heard was how dominate their staff was wellllll...11 runs ain't chopped liver. They were never in a position to win this game and we should have swept them. NOW, on to the weekend and the real grind...if we can win this weekend series we are looking at some serious stuff for the tournnament...GOCATS!

I believe we could have a pretty good 4 man bullpen crew with Mchammer, Schaenzer, Pop, and Salow. That is 2 lefties and 2 righties, we could use another guy, but Cleary is not pitching well right now. Maybe Keene could help out.

Agree completely. It's the one glaring weakness in our pitching rotation.

It can be enough. I like Salow and Pop on the back end. MacHamer is slowly gaining my trust. Schaenzer has disappeared a bit lately. Keen has seen a few more appearances and I'd like to see him get more work during one of the midweek games. Xavier and Indiana will be good to get him experience.
