I have to ask is he related to Veron Carey the amazing OL from Miami Hurricanes lore? As a Canes football fan he was the best OL tackle of the the early 2000's era .

^ yep, that's his dad. He'll most likely be a Cane, especially if they stay as a top 20-ish school, which is fine by me. Think we're after Wiseman out of that trio with those two and Bassey anyway. Might as well send the others somewhere harmless.

Coach K found a way to circumvent what Cal's recruiting success, through proper channels (getting to recruits earlier) and by being a piece of shit (using assistant coaches to slander Cal).
Cal just had to take it up another level.
Maybe he will be a Cane. He sure as shit won't be a Dukie. That would almost be like sending his kid to play for Notre Dame.

My parents went to UK and I have lived in Florida most of my life . Never could stand UF or FSU and loved watching UM play as a kid in the 80's /early 90's and fell in love . We have been down for a while due to horrible coaching hires but we finally have a real coach again and things are looking up . There is actually a 2nd UK/UM fan on this board who posts whose name is Cats and Canes so there are at least 2 of us out there LOL.
There is alot of truth to that last statement . JJ is my favorite football coach of all time and I love Cal due to many of the same reasons. While UM isn't a basketball school they have been a good program since they got Larenga . Can never fault a kid for playing where his dad played but I hope he plays for UK .

Cool. I'm not self-promoting here.. omg.. but I have done 200+ real estate developments and my first, where I cut my teeth, was in St. Augustine.. at 20 years old. LOVE the area, a lot.
I agree he is a POS But not that he has done anything earlier. Some guys are destined for dook no matter what. The Bagley thing had everyone freaked out that dook was in on him so much earlier. The thing there that hardly anyone spoke of was his grandmother living in Durham and his dad being from there too. We were not overcoming that.

Just when Cal decides to let off the gas just a lil so every coach would have a shot with a recruit, a few in the coaching world has to piss the man off and make him that much more of a badazz in the recruiting world. Thanks, guys. Watch with the next couple of recruiting classes and see which school signs the best of the best. When you're Cal and you recruit at such a high level for so long, i guess you need a push to focus that much better. When it's a down year with recruiting for Kentucky, our roster still has a ton of top 25 kids. Now watch when Cal adds a couple of top 5 kids to add with the top 25 kids.
