Return to OSU. Terrible financial decision imo. May not even be the starter. His NFL stock will never be higher than it is right now.

Meyer appears to the be anti-Calipari. I remember him saying in an interview that none of their underclassman will be declaring. How nice of him to look out for his interest over theirs *sarcasm*

This means Miller is 100% going to some lucky school that gets him.

I don't get the decision either. The only way you can keep both QBs happy is to play them both almost equal time.

As pathetic a schedule as OSU plays I think that would work all season.

gonna have to disagree OP,

great decision...football is a different sport than basketball...

3 games doesn't make you ready for a grown professional men's league...

Going to have a year to mature, develop, and improve some weaknesses...

He is going to get that guaranteed money next season...I mean no doubt he would have been drafted on the first day this year...but next year, if he progresses moderately...he's a top 10 pick...maybe even first overall...

teams will be climbing over each other to have a shot to draft him...look out Johnny "Football"...Cardale "Shotgun" is coming...ohio boy saving Cleveland...he could be LeBron's little side kick...the "Cleveland Crew"...

25 million+ guaranteed money....

He now has another year to grow his brand..."12 gauge"...become more a household name and nationally recognized face...will be able to walk right into a Subway deal as well as other endorsements...

Hes already 22 or 23. Cant remember which. And hes likely to not get many snaps next season, barring injury to a starter. I don't see how his stock would ever be higher than now. jmo

Is he that old? He was born on September 29, and he likely graduated from High School in 2012. This makes him born in 1994 if he graduated young (not early, according to most, if not all states), or 1993 if he graduated at 18. According to rivals, he enrolled early, which would likely make him an 18 or 19 year old graduate. Marcus Mariota graduated in 2011 and went to Oregon when he was 17. He didn't graduate early or skip a grade, but in Hawaii, the cutoff is December 31; he was born on October 30, 1993. I was born on November 7, which made me a young graduate, since I started school out west. Then, I graduated a year early by taking some summer classes which made me a 16-year old graduate (I would have been 17 had I started in Kentucky, which would have been "on time" for Hawaii/California standards), but only one year ahead (I didn't "skip" any grades, but I used summer classes to graduate a year early; my sister did the same thing).

Jones's stock is sky high right now; no one had any film on him. Now, all coaches will have more film, which means he will be brought back to earth, somewhat. Think, Kenny Hill against South Carolina.

I disagree with this part. I am a JT fan and think hes a great football player, but with Cardale at QB opposing teams werent able to stack the box as much due to his arm talent.. Which in turn, gave Ezekiel huge holes to run through and made an already good offense even better.

I could be completely wrong, but imo Cardale will be the starter next season. If he is the starter and plays the way he played against damn good competition in Wisconsin, Bama, and Oregon for a whole season.. Then he will be a sure fire 1st rounder.

Its hard to know where he would have gone (projected 3rd-4th rd) but ppl in the NFL were foaming at the mouth after just 3 games, imagine a whole season.. BTW whether the starter is Cardale or JT that guy will be a Heisman front runner from the get go.. Kindve crazy

Terrible Comparison, hes more Vince Young than Jamarcus.
His arm is a 1000x stronger than Youngs arm. JaMarcus had a cannon, but didn't know how to read defenses and also he ate himself out of the NFL. Jones looks like he as the same exact ability.

Silly.....Why do we have to have press conferences saying we're "returning" to school? Bad enough we have to have press conferences when they announce their college choices. So....when do we have the press conference from the third string waterboy saying he's coming back?

Since Al Davis is dead, does anyone think that there is a GM dumb enough to use a high draft pick on a QB with three games of college experience? If I was an owner, I'd fire the first guy that suggested drafting this kid anywhere higher than the 4th round. This kids success has been supplemented by a back who probably averaged more than 200 yards a game during that same stretch, a WR who will most likely go in the first round and an OL that completely dominated the three teams they faced. Besides, when was the last time OSU, or Urban Meyer for that matter, produced a successful NFL QB? This kid has system QB written all over him.

Yes,they call it potential and someone would.

I think he would have been drafted no less than 2nd round. Maybe 1st round, depending on combine performance. A 250 pound QB who can move, and has an absolute cannon.

I hate OSU, but I would choose him over Mariotta. Mariotta seems to lack arm strength. I think Mariotta is going to really struggle in a traditional offense. He really struggled to throw the ball in clear passing situations. Not a good sign.
