Can we talk about Almonor?

I like this dude. He's a really solid bench piece. Always plays under control, strong, and really solid on open looks. I really like what he brings. Maybe a bit of an under appreciated player. Actual legit depth. Glad we have a senior like that on the bench.

Per 13.6 a game;
7.3pts, 2.3 rbs, 0.1 TO
55%FG, 43%3PT, 89%FT
He is not James Lee in regards to power, but reminds of a steadying force like James Lee. Comes in and helps steady the ship.

I think Almonor is easily the biggest surprise on this team.

I think I'd agree with this... he was probably the one guy I wondered if he could translate up in the level of competition. I was hoping he could, but was worried he may have some limitations that would prevent finding a good role.
  • he isn't exceptionally quick, so I thought he may struggle guarding a 3/stretch 4
  • he isn't exactly long, so I thought he may struggle against 4s/5s in the 6'9+ range
Those limitations may still show up from time to time, but he appears to know himself and his own game so well that this awareness/headiness & good hands enable him to minimize his disadvantages and maximize his opportunities.

He and Oweh have definitely been the biggest surprises to me.
