** Evan Hampton is a big-time baseball player but not only that. The 2026 prospect is a very good RB/ATH and he clocked in at 4.42 seconds in the 40-yard dash today. That put him on the golf cart with Vince Marrow for a portion of camp. He has been to Kentucky in the past and was working out with the RBs in the stadium today. Definitely seems like someone to keep an eye on.
** Class of 2025 EDGE defender Douglas Quarles from Charlotte (N.C.) Corvian made the trip. Tough timing for him because he tore his ACL during basketball season and wasn't able to participate to move into take category but he would have a lot of interest. UK, Coastal Carolina, and Gardner Webb were his earlier offers.
** 2026 OT Owen Winder from Michigan looked really good. Has very strong arms and legs. Lean and going to fill out and look like an SEC OT. Thought he moved well for a big guy, definitely one of the top linemen there so far this summer.
** Adrian Scott from Corvian was also there. He's another '25 (6'5, 210) and picked up an offer from Kentucky in the spring.
** Corvian is also home to 2027 prospect Nate Kamba (6'3, 270). His parents are originally from Congo. He grew up playing soccer and basketball, just figuring football out and very high potential. Offers from UK, South Carolina, VIrginia Tech, others. Kamba didn't make it to Kentucky today though.
** The reason Corvian had a contingent is their coach is a Youngstown guy who also coached guys like Marcus McWilson, Braylon Heard, and DJ Waller among others. Got to hear some about Waller today. How in high school for a lot of the time he was about 6'1, 150 pounds, and when he started packing on the weight the light went on for him and he put in a tremendous amount of work to get to where he was. Relationships are extremely important to Waller so he had a good relationship with UK and that's why they won out when he went into the portal.
