I was at the Kentuckians of New York Spring Dinner and had a chance to talk to Cameron Mills as well as Ramel Bradley. Mills told me that he'd heard from two sources this week that Bam is coming back. Said it's OK to post it, just as long as I don't say that he's guaranteeing it or staking his reputation on it. Just something he heard from reliable sources, good enough for him to believe that it's likely.

Bradley said that he'll be working on a greenhouse in eastern Ky this summer, didn't have the time to get any details about it.

I don't see it happening. He'll be a first round pick and it would be in his best interest to move up to the NBA. I think Cal will push him that way. Bam won't be on our roster next year.

As long as Bamba goes to Texas. If he and Knox go to Duke, I'm gonna be sick.
Who tf cares where they go? If we get Bam back we have a much better team. People act like Bam was ass last year and many would rather have Bamba which is crazy but sometimes I can't blame them because of the culture we have here.

He's far from a lock in the 1st round. At least as things stand now. I'm sure Cal is doing what he can to help him get more informstion, but no way in hell he's just pushing Bam out the door.

How can Cameron Mills know? Does Bam even know? He hasn't really even worked out for anyone yet has he? When is the combine? If he's not even going to go through those steps then why did he even throw his hat in the ring?
I'm not sure I'm buying what CM is selling.
And what's Ramel going to be growing in that greenhouse?

Greenhouse is in Pike Co.. Grow garden stuff to sell plants plus grow to harvest vegetables and stuff.. Supposed to hire 100-200 and pay $12 hour I think it is..

Everytime I read this bam or bamba thing..I always think, why do people keep forgetting about nick Richards, it's like him and skj are the forgotten guys

Bamba is seen as a real OAD, while Richards – presently - is not. Both are raw offensive players, but Bamba’s length wins out in terms of idyllic potential transcendence. A second-year Bam is considered a potential lottery pick. I suppose it has more to do with the notion that while freshmen can win, having enough lottery-level freshmen is really the key. A second year Bam would go a long way to alleviating concerns of a freshmen-dominated team; and a first-year Bamba with a 7’11” reach would go a long way to alleviating perimeter defensive mistakes of Green, Diallo, etc.

I think Grayson has half the potential of Bam... Nothing personal against Grayson, but Christ, Bam is an absolute specimen.

Bam is one of those rare prospects who stand to gain 10 spots or so by returning for a second year. The draft is obviously weaker next year, and Bam could make a realistic jump into the lottery by returning. I think it’s clear that even if he ends up in the early 2nd round this summer, he’ll end up with a multi-year contract; however, if Bam ended up at #14 in the ’18 draft, he’d bring in a guaranteed $2.5 million, with a third year option at an additional $1.9 million for a total of around $4.4 million. If he goes now, and ends up at #27 (for example) that’s two years guaranteed at $2 million with a third year option at $1.1 million for a total of $3.1 million.

Being that Bam is probably going to stick long-term in the league, I’m not sure the extra year is worth it unless he sees himself as a top 10 pick next year – in which the three year earnings go from about $4.4 million to over $7 million. Obviously, it would be worth a second year in that scenario, but a top 10 pick is no guarantee for Bam, even after a second season at UK.

I think when Bam gets to the combine he will impress scouts and someone will tell him he's going to be a mid 1st round pick and he'll go.

I agree. That process would concluded in about three weeks or so. Only reason for Bam to return would be to try for a top 10 slot next year. That's where the real money is at.

Personally, I think Bam should jump to the League. When kids stay an extra year....if they don't improve markedly, it elevates concerns about their "potential". And that hurts their draft position.

Why do people think Bam and Bamba can't coincide? I'm lost.
Agree. if it were to happen Bam would play the 4 and Bamba the 5. We've co-existed with two PG's but we can't do it with bigs? Come on. Cal will find a way. If I'm Bamba, I would be even more willing to join UK if Bam comes back. That's a lot of protection at the 4 with Bam on my hip pocket if I'm Bamba.

Don't think anyone has forgotten but with the way games are called now you need to be as deep as possible. Plus the idea of 2 of these 3 Richards, Bamba, Bamba being on the floor is scary.

Not getting excited about this news, even if OP did hear it from Mills. I'll just sit back and wait until we hear something official from Bam himself as there is much that can happen between now and draft day for him to impress teams to select him.
