Reminds me more of Penny Hardaway (no I don't think he's THAT good). But young style of play. I like the experience he would bring.

Agree. Compared to Murray, not much similarity. Different body type and game. But I think Johnson is Kentucky bound. It's a great fit and good timing. Calipari doesn't take many transfers, only Harrow and Mays so far. But all the stars seem to be aligning for Johnson to Kentucky.
You can't tell me the way he shoots the 3 doesn't look a BIT like Murray's stroke..

I'll agree with ya his stroke reminds me a lil bit of murrays. The way he catches it and gets it loaded to fire.

I really want to add Johnson to next years squad. I want him more that Knox.
His shot reminds me of Jordan, but his body type is like Lebron. I see a lot of John Wall in his speed with the ball and i cant help but see a young Wilt when i see him under the board.
If he comes we will have a boatload of 6'8" or 6'9" kids with the same body type and athletic ability.The skill sets will be somewhat different but there are only so many of them you can put on the floor at the same time
I think Cal is ok with this grad transfer, partly because of the connections and also because he has two years of eligibility.
He was the third leading scorer on a team that went 16-17. Might want to temper those expectations just a hair.

I think he's generally ok once a guy declares he's leaving. He has a philosophical problem with coaches keeping a recruiting board of possible grad transfers and pursuing them.
But like I said before, I doubt he minds sticking it to Stallings.
But is he a streaky shooter? It seems like every guard we get has the reputation of being streaky

College basketball player are very likely to be streaky... They are...still way to young.
One player in Cal's era that wasn't streaky, was Lamb. Beyond him, everyone was all over the place.
Reminds me of a guy who could come to UK, average 6 points/game, and be a solid role player for two years while keeping the opposing defense honest.
for me, he reminds me of a player that gets thread started about. "Why isn't Cam Johnson not playing?" after first game, because Vanderbilt looked shaky.
Reminds me of a more consistent shooting, but far less athletically gifted Darnell Dodson. With, I would assume, a much better attitude and far less love of smoking weed.
Tall catch-and shoot guy. Useful, but the question will be whether he's athletic enough to guard anyone, and whether he can contribute anything outside of the bombs away. He could thrive in a role like Wiltjer had in 11-12. Not so sure how it will go if he's asked to do a lot more than that (like Wiltjer in 12-13).

Yes I can see that,I don't see a Murray or Monk on next years team,Mulder would have had a different role if those two had not been around.
If he comes and plays he will be complained about, if he comes but doesn't play Cal will be complained about!
He is NOTHING like Hardaway.
Well...he wears an NCAA D1 uniform...he plays basketball...he's skilled, tall, and lanky...and he has experience. So NOTHING like Hardaway is a bit of an overkill. However, if you disagree...that's fine by me. Albeit the same, I like the get if we scoop him up.

Mulder had never played D1 ball. Johnson has, at the highest level, and while he wasn't great, he wasn't bad, either.
He'd have no chance against Lavar though,no chance at all
