No need to disparage the good work Stoops & company are putting in...what they're doing on the recruiting front in football is about as historical as what Cal's doing on the basketball front. Maybe more so. Ive seen outstanding recruiting before in hoops but never (maybe I just wasn't paying enough attention) in football. Some of you football folk feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember a time when the football team enjoyed the quality depth that they'll have over the next couple of years.

i think this is pretty dumb.

What Cal is doing historic in a sense of all college basketball. It's stupid to say "well it was never this good in kentucky for football." That's loser mentality, if you ask me.

What Cal is doing is bitch slapping every other school. Not some "Only in Kentucky history" condition.

He is changing the landscape of college basketball. Now, this doesn't mean what stoops is doing is bad. Its just not comparable to what Cal is doing.

So what you guys are saying is they should differentiate between recruits based on who the "big" gets are? Who determines that? Scout? Rivals? Stoops? Not much better way to piss off half your recruiting class by treating them like garbage before they get here...terrible take. According to that logic we wouldn't have cared about Cobb, Trevathan, Woodyard...Either celebrate them all or celebrate none of them. If they come to wear the Blue and White, they deserve to be recognized, regardless of whose delicate sensibilities it offends.

That comes with being ranked higher, the better the prospect the better the fanbase support. Its a way of life in sports. Lets just drop the whole thing and never say "Yahtzee".
