Cal's honeymoon at Arkansas is already over

He's spiteful. It's well known how he felt about UK fans, and how he treated certain players in response to the fans. His idea of "great job" is getting his precious recruits drafted. Far above winning any sort of title.
I don't know if he was actively spiteful, but he certainly was passive-aggressive. "I'll do it and prove them wrong!" Now maybe in the last couple of months he was getting spiteful.

I think Cal just got tired of trying to do different things and just decided to force square pegs in round holes.

Cal was spiteful WAYYYY before that.

Just think back to Derrick Willis for proof.

Oh I'll 100% agree with that. He screwed with us the last 5 years. I can't believe how he used Dontaie Allen as a pawn in his war with the people that made him what he is. Without UK fans, he doesn't become the boss he once was.

Players first my ass. NBA draft first, but certainly not players first.

I hope big z regrets it everyday. Screw him. This fanbase spent their own money to put up billboards for him, pleaded daily to get him eligible, had his back, etc. He can rot with cal in seriously the ugliest state I’ve ever laid eyes on, well tied with Mississippi
Jeez, I hope I never take college basketball so seriously that I have this much hate for a young man making what he felt was the best decision for his own future. Newsflash: these players owe you nothing.

I am sure someone has posted the Cal life cycle over there so they know what to expect.

The Calipari Life Cycle

Step 1: Enter season highly ranked with Final 4 and National Championship aspirations (YOU ARE HERE)
Step 2: Lose first highly ranked matchup of the season (Usually Duke, Michigan State, this season Gonzaga) and potentially get upset by a non-ranked team
Step 3: Continue to play lifeless basketball through November and early December
Step 4: Beat highly ranked opponent in December/January, team is starting to look decent
Step 5: Win some tough games against ranked SEC teams (rarely are the wins against Tennessee), lose some away SEC games to terrible teams, but overall team is looking decent to good for March
Step 6: Enter March Madness with legitimate Final 4 hopes
Step 7: Lose to a lower ranked seed in a game where the offense looks terrible
Step 8: Lose at least half the team to the NBA
Step 9: Repeat!

Last night I clicked on his post game interview thinking maybe I’d get a little laugh or something, before he was even asked a question he told everyone that he would answer three maybe four questions. Lmao. I just wonder what those who wanted to ask the questions felt about that. His head is this size of a beach ball. Hahaha. He actually doesn’t even answer anything much, he answers by asking them questions. That always Made me mad when he did that, I can imagine the reporters. Anyway, thought that was funny.

The youtube comment section after their games are a hoot as well. Lots of UK fans pretty much warning Hog fans. The rest are the delusional Hog fans touting him as a great coach but there's a few who seem to ne getting it.

I didn't listen to Cal his last 3 or 4 years at UK because it was just too embarrassing and annoying. But now that he's at Arky, I'm enjoying watching his press conferences. It's good comedy and if I didn't know any better I would think it's someone making parody videos.

Doesn’t it just make you nauseous?
Yes and no.

If he won in 2010, 2012, 2015, we would be happy, he would be happy, and he would be perceived as a Basketball God. But...

Would we still have to endure what we did the last 5 years?

Another classic Cal performance last night against a no-name OOC team. Where have we seen that before? Dude is a recurring script. If they didn't have Thiero and Fland, they wouldn't win 10 games total. There's no way Arkansas can be happy thus far. They paid a premium price for the Big Lots version of Cal.

Yea not sure I agree with that. No shortage of fans posting at Cals daughter after a bad loss
You both are correct.

Cal’s daughters initially seemed out comments to get all defensive about and would subtweet and “defend” their dad.

Once you seek out and engage in the convo….Twitter is going to Twitter. They are young and grew up in the social media world…they know that is how Twitter operates. It’s attention and engagement seeking.

One doesn’t make the other right…but Had they never started popping off on Twitter…they would have never been the subject of @ and retweets

I have nothing against the younger one. The older one, though.... Colonel Hingus got me in trouble by saying the older one was just bitter and jealous of the younger ones looks. Ellen supposedly was not too pleased about it.

Cal actually thinks they NEEDED him at Arkansas, like he's their savior or something.

Ehh I have to be honest. I was beyond pissed at Cal a few months ago. Now I’ve become entirely apathetic. I feel like we got the right guy now and I’m just happy. I don’t even wish Arkansas to be bad. When we play them, I want to win by 36 and rub it in real good but my disdain for Cal has dissipated significantly as I’ve watched Arkansas become the 2022-2023 Kentucky team all over again. I’m actually beginning to feel bad for the guy. It’s still early but Pope has me feeling like he could be the ultimate Kentucky coach…perhaps he could one day be the second best we ever had!

Cal WAS a great coach n did GREAT at UK.
Then covid 9-16 season hit an it shook him to his core an destroyed his confidence. He's been forcing it since more he tries to cope worse he gets.
Cal had already been losing to guys like Bruce Weber and underperforming before Covid was ever heard of. Two times our bracket totally opened up and be crapped the bed and couldn’t take advantage of it.

You can hate on his handlers but Z had no say in the matter.

I agree. Tubby was a good coach. He was just unfortunate enough to follow the Pitino years here...its hard to measure up to that
The last half of his tenure he didn’t measure up to a lot of UK coaches. The man has been to 1 damn final four IN HIS ENTIRE CAREER. And that team was already built for him.

Todays players do kinda owe us now since we are the ones footing a lot of the bill to pay them.
