I think it's weird, but what is the direct harm that can come from not announcing despite it being obvious he is gone?
UK can't contact other coaches until they know he's gone.. It's holding up everything and allowing other schools time to offer their coach incentive to stay
So we just need to hope the contract details are revealed today for Arky?
Just because someone reports something doesn't always make it true.
People in negotiations usually don't finalize everything until the deal is done. He will give his notice when that is done.
I am fine with moving on if we can get the right hire, but I really don't want to move on for a worse situation. And that is looking like the predicament we are in.
UK isn't the draw for coaches it once was.
The longer he waits, the more time other coaches have time to work the portal and less time UK has to find a replacement.

I wasn’t happy about the Stoops ordeal, but the situation was different. Also, he treats the fans much much better.
Or these school put contracts in place at the right time and made it extremely hard for them to leave. Kentucky is still one of the best jobs in the sport, and Kentucky can get a good coach.
The big thing is NIL money. If rumors about NIL money being a problem for basketball in Lexington, that is a real problem for getting our next coach.
The NIL coffers need to be full and ready for disbursement the moment a new coach is hired.

He negotiated with Arkansas without informing the AD. It's explicitly in his contract.
Also there is no word out he talked to Ohio St in February. While his team was still playing. Makes you wonder why the team and especially the game plan seemed missing for A&M and Oakland.

Calipari is every bit the guy, most people thought. The dude didn't give a damn about Kentucky Basketball or the fans.
If they don't approve the contract, both Arkansas and Kentucky are royally screwed.
