Cal press conference last night

Arkansas fans now that they have figured out what they have in Cal.
The full presser adds the context, but at the end of the day 2015 broke the Cal we all knew and enjoyed. His personality changed. His coaching changed. He became scared to death to lose. That's why I wanted him gone. The Cal that rolled into Lexington, that recruited his tail off, died on the floor on April 4, 2015. he wasn't coming back. Arkansas wasn't bringing him back.
But he's so egotistical that he can't see or won't see the writing on the wall. I thank the lord every single day that SOB is gone and we have Mark Pope.
Was thinking the exact same thing. Duke would have murdered UK if Cal were still in Lexington. CMP is a much better coach IMO. If he can just get talent in the same area code as Cal did, we are in for some very good times! Hell, we may well be in for a VERY good year this year. I'm so just enjoying the ride right now!
Big Z has to be regretting his decision to not play for Pope. He would have as many threes as he wanted.
I do NOT miss his press conferences at all. These are the same clichés, the same excuses he always used after games. I think i could sit up there and mimick him well enough that you wouldn't know the difference if you only saw a transcript. He says the same things over and over.
Listening to Mark Pope do a press conference... I didn't realize how much I missed real answers and not being taken as a bunch of idiots who can't tell when they're hearing coach speak.

Gonna guess that he might have just shot the first couple on his own and since he made them, Cal had no excuse to stop him from taking more. Will see if Cal does what he should and allows Z to go out beyond the line more often going forward. Z is not a true center, he's more of a stretch 4 despite his height.
He’ll give him a pass this year and start hyping up next year’s recruiting class. Then, we’ll be here this time next year having the exact same conversation.

I can't answer for Big Z but I'm regretting his decision to not play for Pope. Anyone with half a brain could see that he fit this system better than Cal's where he has to post up on the block.
I think people are really starting to see it wasn't just us now. It wasn't just "Bennies" and spoiled brat UK fans. Dude is not the same coach anymore. No way that's the same Cal that came here in 2009.

Pope's recruiting class for next year is very good now. He might not be too far off from CCC-type classes already, but the thing is Pope won't need those types to get at least if not likely better results.
Dude ..Last week Jimmy Dykes said that Cal had at least 1 but probably 2 national championships left in him ! I’m like “WHAT!” lol
It’s been said that Bo Ryan has Cals testicles in a jar on his mantle. I don’t know if that is the truth though.
A few of the smart ones have caught on early for what a fraud he is. This reporter looks like he may be one of them. Expect his credentials to get pulled and exiled from the program for dare questioning his Lordship. He expects everyone to touch the hem of his garment like he's a prophet. Most of them think it is cute at first until the losses quickly mount up.
I respectfully disagree. 2016 was competitive even without a center. 2017 was amazing but got Higginsed. THAT game broke Cal. Let's be honest, it broke a lot of us. We got hosed.
That's the only question I have. I wonder how the 5 stars will play under Pope? What I mean is most not all but most 5 stars wanna play ME ball not team ball.
I do believe Pope will recruit the 5 stars that he believes are as much about the team as they are about themselves.
He seems to me like he would rather be a social worker than a coach.

The only thing believable that came out of Cal's mouth is that he doesn't know who their next opponent is. He would have been even more accurate if he had simply ended has statement as "I don't even know...".
He has truly lost it. He has become the crazy uncle who is locked away in the back bedroom and can only come out for Thanksgiving.
He should get paid honestly. He’s legit Arkansas’s best player and it’s not real close outside Fland. I would have loved to have kept Fland, Z, and Theiro. I mean I’m happy with what we have though but those 3 can play and would fit this system well. I think Thiero in particular would give us something we lack In athleticism.
It’s wild he went from calling T Jones a selfish mfer during a game to saying he can’t take any one’s heart.
That’s another thing like how do you not know this. That doesn’t exactly make you look good. “I’m all about today.” That’s obvious because you definitely don’t seem to have a plan with how you want the team to progress.

Well you didn't read between the lines. This is what happened last year at UK. His Dad is a nutjob.
He meant the ones he squandered away by not bothering to coach.
