But the fan base wasn't in the shape it is now. And that's the point of this thread. People were still behind the team and coach because they were trying to win for UK. The coach and players now don't seem to be anymore. And that's why it's far worse now and he is killing the fan base. Even though BCG was a train wreck, it was only a couple of years. He never did the damage Cal has.

But you asked how we survived those eras. And they were far easier to survive than now. It's not even close. Yes Tubby left suddenly. Yes he underachieved in terms of final fours and tournament success, especially in the last couple of years. But it was NOTHING like now. Not a thing.

I was here during the Tubby years, and yes, his last several years were bad, and the fanbase was fractured, much as it is today.

IMO, what makes it appear much worse now under Cal is the "new" college hoops, with NIL and the portal it's practically a new roster every season.

BUT, Cal owns this mess he's created, make no mistake, and his apparent disdain for the very fans who have stood with this program for decades is intolerable.

Yes, many of us were beyond ready for Tubby to leave, myself included, but for all of Tubby's shortcomings he never took us to THIS low of a point, ever. He IS destroying this proud program, and for that I hate the man and pray he leaves ASAP.

Funny, UK doesn't seem upset. They aren't trying to terminate it. If it was the horrific then you pretend it is, they can simply by their way out. Lot of money but they apparently don't buy into the rafters histrionics or they'd pay it.

Everytime I try to have a real conversation, you come in and immediately attack whatever I say, so at this point no matter what I say, you will always have a rebuttal.
