None of the facility upgrades for athletics use tax dollars. It’s all private money or money that athletics makes (they don’t receive any general funding). I agree that priorities are out of whack at times with what is being spent on major college athletics, but they are also using the money they make from people like us investing in the program through donations, purchases or just eyeballs on the TV.
The problem is Cal's hubris. It could be just bad timing, but Cal has been shitting all over the fans and the university with his poor results, smartass remarks, and the Sharpe debacle, and now he's demanding money as though he gives a hot sht about the facilities. It's a bad look and smacks of him trying to distract from his failures.

Those are rhetorical, loaded, gotcha questions. So you were making a statement. I.E. complaining. Check your own privilege before lashing out like a little girl at others.
If Coach Cal is that passionate about the state of our facilities, let him step up and lead the fundraising effort to make it happen. He would have a lot more leverage if we were coming off a NC season. Just sayin’….
