Exactly. And I'll say what I said again. destroying the program isn't about the roster. It's about how he poisoned the waters around himself. There were a lot of donors that stopped giving to UK bball because of Calipari. They sent their money to football instead. How many in the media did he push away? More importantly, look at how he treated the fans. Just awful.
Now, on top of that the performance on the court was slipping. Badly. Not just the 9-16 season but, St. Peter's and Oakland. Early exits in the SEC-T, no longer a player in the regular season, losing numerous home games at Rupp to marginal opponents. It was all falling apart!
Cal is leaving the program in shambles. Just because other coaches do it, usually when making a move up the food chain, doesn’t mean Cal is doing all he can to screw UK. Now hopefully with the right hire, it is a quick rebuild.

I care nothing about 5 of those players. I haven't invested 1 minute of thought on any of them (because they are here, underachieve and leave). I do care about Travis Perry and he will stay - he wants to play for Kentucky not Cal.

Everything depends on how quickly UK hires the next coach and who that guy will be. If Barnhart can get the right guy, some of the roster will stay. I'd like to hold out hope that the right hire could re-recruit a guy like Thiero and build around him. The dude is gonna be a stud. But, it'll take hiring a hot name to make it as painless as possible. Look no further than the Brooks hire to see how it has to happen.
Yup, he was right about a lot of things. We always knew when he left we wouldn’t have a roster though. Just sucks it couldn’t have happened 2 weeks ago.
If we get a hire in time, we need someone who is a top guy. Someone who can bring his guys too. Brad Calipari is going with him on staff lmfao!

I think it’s safe to say the transfer portal commits will slow down until the coaching carousel slows down. Which is good for us.

If Drew is the guy he might bring 3 five stars with him commited to Baylor next year and one of them is from
the same school as #13 recruit McNeeley who has expressed recent interest in UK and maybe not because of Cal. Those 4 plus Perry would equal what we're losing and likely increase the chances of getting Sheppard and Big Z back. I'd take it.

I like Morg (Jeff2Reed). A six man freshmen class is a weakness, not a strength, in the year 2024. Arkansas can have that. The new coach can keep Travis, perhaps get a few returnees, and mop up in the portal. We can be good next year.

Drew has won a National Championship, because of it's single elimination format, the hardest Championship in sports to win. He did it Baylor, before the NIL casino opened. His teams are highly competitive in a super tough conference and he helped end a stranglehold Kansas had on Big 12, championship. Of course he'll want to take everyone with him. They're just toys to him- a means to an end and playthings that he'll toss aside with the next shiny thing he sees.
It is best for everyone, except AS ALWAYS the players. Any idiot that would refuse to start one or two of his best players over a struggling to struggle freshmen IS NOT A PLAYERS FIRST COACH.
