Vandy upset Auburn in the 1955 Gator Bowl, IIRC.

But that is the only example I can remember.

SO glad to see the Buffs get their ass handed to them. They have 2 really good individuals, a bunch of average, imo, portal transfers and a ton of hype. As another said, they somehow avoided the top 3 in that conference and ended up with a really good record. I was never that impressed with them and I wonder if they take a huge step back when they don't have 2 all-World talents. Prime has picked up some recruits so the cupboard will not be bare. But, having watched him closely these last two years, not sure he's much better than an adequate coach. Great personality/face of the program, talks a great game, etc. But, Xs and Os I don't believe he's all that strong. We'll see next year.

At least NC State and East Carolina and BYU and Colorado showed up with more or less intact rosters and played a decent bowl game. Alamo bowl even had a good crowd. You know, like bowl games used to be.
