Butler is out for tomorrow's game with Tennessee

I don’t know what to do honestly, I mean Perry is our starting guard now. Robinson will probably handle PG duties but I don’t think that works for 40 minutes. It will be a coaching clinic if Pope pulled this win out honestly. Maybe a low pace game with timely 3’s?
Pope's going to have to try a different style where there really isn't much dribbling. Get the ball up the court and use Williams/Garrison up top. Back cut them to death.

If it was me, I would zone UT. Maybe box and 1, triangle and 2 (Ziegler and Lanier) or 1-3-1.

Gotta do something to change the narrative. Perry can't guard Ziegler. No way.

If they win tomorrow it’s gonna have to be like when the reeves &wallace team won down there. A ugly game but they win in a fist fight.

I won't be watching.

I sat live in Knoxville in 2013 when they beat us by about 30 right after Noel went down with that injury.

It was hell for me, surrounded by putrid neanderthals screaming for their volunteers. I'd rather not relive that experience, even from this side of a television screen.

Ziegler gonna eat Perry alive...i think you have to play Robinson at the one.
I think Perry handles the ball better against pressure than Robinson. I think we should zone the entire game, but not 1-3-1 … use a tighter 2-3 or 3-2 matchup. Regardless, we have to shoot very well and Tenn very poorly to win.

For all those that were bad mouthing Butler we all knew he was playing through some injuries and pain. Now we will be without a PG period in a really hostile environment. Sure hope Robinson is ready to go again at the PG spot for the extended mins we're going to need out of him there!

Will be a long night but we need to get guys healthy. Butler and Carr probably will both sit. Robinson will run point, Oweh 2, Almanor, Brea, Williams with Perry, Noah and Garrison off the bench.

Bad news. Butler out plus the lack of effort and urgency This team has displayed could be a 15 to 20 point loss, easily. That sucks. Oh well.

You're probably right, as there's no good answer. Robinson isn't a very good ball-handler, which is a less than ideal situation against Ziegler. Oweh might be able to put more pressure on the defense with the dribble, but I guess Pope knows that isn't the best option. Perry is the best ball-handler but isn't yet strong enough or aggressive enough with the ball to put anybody on their heels a little. It's going to be interesting (but more likely painful) seeing how Pope schemes to handle this game. If UK wins this game go ahead and give Pope the Coach of the Year award (and I'm only being slightly hyperbolic)

Brother real life ain’t a Disney movie. It’s not all happiness and rainbows. Bad shit is happening and people are reacting to it. It’s called normal human behavior. 2 starters are out, and you’re getting upset because people are reacting like any other damn fanbase would
Agree, it is completely normal to react to this. It really sucks to have two starters out and your backup point guard. Any fan base would be reactive. Has nothing to do with supporting them. If the rupp rafter board was empty with no posts then that is what no support would look like. Do the math.

I don't think Robinson can stay in front of Zeigler, I would use Owen to guard him and Robinson at point on offense. To me the game will hinge on Brea. If he steps up we have a chance,if not it could be a tough night. I agree we should play a 2-3 zone,if we have practised it enough

I think that’s a smart decision. Let the boys heals so we have them for Saturday.
I agree. Tennessee on the road is an uphill (but not impossible) battle. It's not a "must win" situation. Saturday, hosting Arkansas (and not just the Cal angle) is a win that the Cats definitely need. If we can have a healthy Carr and Butler for that game and get a convincing dominant win, I don't feel terrible about the 3-game (potentially) losing streak

That was the lowest I’ve ever been as a Kentucky fan outside of the St.Peters loss

I remember sitting in Seattle with a sinking feeling when I saw Butler was out, and then the team came out and played one hell of a game.

My hope is not high tonight, but that is why you play the games- anything can happen.

Robinson at the point gives us a chance to win we don’t have with butler. Hopefully pope uses Robinson more at the point. Before he had big games at the point. His best of the season. If Travis Perry has to play over 15 min we get smashed
Yeah I hope he proves me wrong, but I just don't see this being a game for Perry. UT's guards will cause him all kinds of problems.
