Brohm to UL happening now

Good Lord! Some of you all act like the this guy is the second coming of Saban and Lombardi. He's an average to good coach whose family name means a lot to that fanbase. We'll continue to get a player here and there out of Jefferson County because UK still has a huge presence there and they may amount to the 1-2 players we get each year from there.

Seeing all these numbers that coaches are getting this year (Freeze and Auburn, Brohm at UL, Sanders, etc) make it baffling why we’re paying Stoops $9mil a year.

Like I said Brohm is giving a hometown discount to his school that is in bad financial shape

If you can't figure out why Stoops earns more than Hugh Freeze or Deon Sanders, that's on you

He got a raise/extension last December…..what did he do in the past 12 months that justified a $2mil/year increase?

Won 7 games, lost to Vandy, lost to South Carolina, fired 2 assistants in less than a year?

Big immediate question for uUK, a 4* Indianapolis D linemen Gilbert is committed to Purdue, but we've never stopped chasing. He follow Jeff or flip to us?
Lackford said today he's thinks he'll flip to us.

Usually is concrete in his predictions, this one he says "Think"

I don't see this as a good thing for Kentucky. Recruiting in Louisville will be much more competitive.
But we can counter by going up north and blanketing the Cincy/Northern KY area. Don't see a lot of kids from that area clamoring to play for Satterfield.

As an Iowa guy, I hate seeing Brohm leave Purdue. In 6 years he's 2 games over .500 overall and the same in conference play. Purdue now given the chance to find someone who can out-do that and they just might.
Brohm’s two predecessors were 9-43.

This will move u6 up the pecking order I think. He will win there, it's just a matter of how much. Will have excellent qb play and won't have to worry about changing ocs every year.

And it's the ACC not the b1g or SEC. He should be able to get them back to 2nd or 3rd in that conference, especially if Clemson continues to struggle

Brohm gets a raise, gets to coach in a easier conference and gets to move home. I'd say those are all "wins" for him.
Him being at UofL is going to make things harder for UK in recruiting Louisville and inside the state of KY as a whole.
But, I'm of the opinion that competition is always a good thing. UK/Stoops/Marrow can no longer take for granted that they can get just about anyone they want in KY.
That also means that NIL had better get become a priority and fast. UofL is already ahead of UK in this regard and time is wasting.
Regarding the actual quality of team he puts on the field...we shall see. He walks into a bit of a quagmire but, they have a good class coming in and some talent remaining. I could see them beating us next year if Stoops doesn't hire the right OC and get a decent QB out of the portal.

I bet when Stoops found out Satterfield was going to UC he about fell out of his chair laughing; Fickell is the best coach at landing Greater Cincinnati talent I've seen in my lifetime and it became abundantly easier to get kids from Cincinnati when he left for Wisconsin. Satterfield isn't going to enjoy anywhere near that level of success in Southern Ohio.

It’s still playing against the best in the SEC. Kids want that. 🖕🏻Brohm and UL
HS never had any conference when coached at u6 and he never had an issue recruiting. Kids on the offensive side of the ball will be much tougher to recruit against them.

According to the roster on UK athletics site, 12 out of 115 of our players are from Louisville

Think 3 or 4 of those are walkons, 2 are in the portal leaving (Crume & Young)

City of Louisville recruiting is important. Vince has worked hard making inroads there. If Brohm were such a legendary giant of the city....why didn't he get more Louisville kids to Purdue? It ain't that far away.

Bring. It. On. This will certainly add juice to the rivalry if it comes to pass.

Edit to Add that he’s the caliber of a coach to keep their bought and paid-for signing class together.
Let them enjoy the moment. They’ve been a national laughing stock the better part of 10 years. And, they’re not back yet. Their bball team is hilarious. Comedy gold.

Who are the Louisville kids that really do a ton for UK.

- JJ Weaver...and ??????

- Cummings played a tad last year and he's been recruited over
- Crumes has never played and we've had a ton of crappy WR rooms in his tenure
- John YOung never played at all
- THe kid from Ballard who transferred last year was a backup

I think Brohm makes the UL game harder and could put a strangle hold on Trinity and other recruits in Louisville....but it's not like we get many guys who actually start much less good playmakers out of Louisville. It's been Ohio kids, Michigan kids and now more kids from Georgia that are the players for UK...not Louisville

He'll be changing his name to Geoff Sambardini now

I guess they're back on a collision coarse with a national championship. The only variable is 600 years

I fully expect UL to be good in 2023, and come into the UK game with 8 or 9 wins. But i thought the same even if Satterfield returned.

It is up to UK to fix offense & special teams issues to stay in front of them

FWIW people I trust say Trinity isn't a powerhouse anymore, best Louisville HS talent look elsewhere

One beaked Mensa scholar over on their board posted this about our board:

"Are quickly and desperately going through the five stages of grief over this news. It’s comedy gold over on the Liar.

I'm a little confused, did Louisville hire Saban and we just don't know about it?
I see more shrugs of "meh" here than any real fretting.
Btw, Owens just decommitted from Louisville.
But I'm sure Brohm Lombardi will replace him with the first 6 star athlete.
