Bradshaw

It wasn't just him; Ugo didn't deserve 19 minutes and Edwards definitely should not have played 29 minutes. We lost this game entirely due to Cal's use of the lineup. And not trying to double the post when they were scoring every damn time.
"You people are basketball bennies. I'm in the HOF for a reason. It's about these kids. I can't take someone's heart. The sun will come up tomorrow."

We did not have any defense at the center position. Bradshaw just looks lost on the floor. What did he have 3 points ?

Bradshaw is WEAK and SOFT!!!

He has not improved one bit since the UF game. He was billed as a Big that could shoot, but hasn't made CRAP since that UF game. He doesn't know how to use his length as an asset on defense and puts his hands DOWN when contesting shots. He gets pushed around more than Skal did. He gives up offensive rebounds( but isn't the only one doing that) and his hands are horrible, loses too many balls by fumbling them away or getting it knocked out of his hands. Then throw in how bad he passes the ball( which all of our Bigs except Z are bad at it even Mitchell) and I am FLABBERGASTED at how in the world he was ever considered to possibly be a top 3 NBA draft pick!!!!

I think we might have won this game if Mitchell has played. At least he could have scored in the post.

I told everyone on this board multiple times that Bradshaw was a bust before he played 1 minute for UK.

People told me I didn't know what I was talking about... welcome now to the club.

Thank you old wise one that is smarter than everyone else.

MANY people thought he was overhyped, but a bust? Not going there. The kid is just that, a kid. Development is far from over and he may turn into a very good player over time. Anyone thinking he would be Hakeem as a freshman set themselves for guaranteed disappointment.

Plus his coach sucks…

I noticed his scoring and rebounding averages in high school were very unimpressive:
Senior: 12.1/9.4
Junior: 8.9/7.4

Many here said that he did not need to contribute that much on his stellar team, but those numbers were incredibly low for a 7'1'' player in high school. They were clearly an indication that he had a lot of work to do and it was unreasonable to expect him to be a major contributor early on in college.

I'm not at all sure Mitchell could have scored inside against them but there's no way he could have done worse on defense. With this team I'd go with Thiero at center and 4 guards and bring Mitchell and Z off the bench and let the others get some rest for the remainder of the year.

Do you think a Theiro/4 guard line-up could defend and rebound any better than what we currently do ??

The dude has heard enough negative stuff , I've been part of it .. BUT ITS HIS COACH PUTTING HIM IN POSITION TO FAIL .. John Benjamin Calipari is setting many players up for success ( In the pay league ) but he sucks ass at preparing young players to win college games . It's Cal's fault .. you think he should have allowed young Aaron to go out and ( before doing a single thing) start woofing and running his mouth ???? He fired up the Gonzaga in a quiet " we will see who woofs last" type way . Cal should have not only benched him .. but chewed his ass out .

Bradshaw isn’t a bust, he’s a 3 year player trying to be a 1 year player. Same with Edwards and Wagner. I remember before everyone lost their minds, that dudes like those 3 would return and build a FF contender, now they just think they can fake it until they make it.

I don't care about his development... it's not going to happen in the last month or so he has left as a Wildcat.

He was a bust for his 1 year in college.

Save me the kid narrative he's an adult he's 18 and making millions to stink it up on the court.

You seem to be very emotional about this. Again, your disappointment is all on you if you expected him to be a superstar, which clearly you did. His numbers in high school clearly demonstrated he wouldn’t be a star.

I had zero expectations as I mentioned multiple times - I said he was a bust from the jump.

Cal should of brought in a transfer.

But go bother someone else.... I don't have time for condescending attitudes like yours.

Your replies demonstrate you do have time. Plenty of it.

Also a bit ironic you accuse me of being condescending when you’re the one positing “I told you so” posts to everyone

2-3 year player, optimally

Gives 100% effort on the floor

I don't fault him for ANYTHING, it's the coach who put him in the current role

I think this is about right. These guys are multi year college players. Would be nice to have them all return. Will they?! Meh, I doubt it.

Bradshaw is at least likeable, seems like a good kid, good attitude. But as I predicted last summer about him, like I predicted 2 summers before that about 5* stringbean Collins (when many were saying he would be a OAD star), both were too thin and weak to make an impact as FR.

Edwards, I wanted to like him. But there’s something about him that makes it tough. Idk. But he has the unique combination of mediocre athleticism and mediocre skill.

When you have three seven footers and give up 50 points in the paint, either they are overrated, or you can't coach or both. I do think they are trying but just can't hold their ground. we can't stop teams from getting to the basket or backing our bigs down under the basket for easy score. After a while you have to change things up, like maybe try a zone, there are several reasons why you play a zone. One is if you can't play defense, two if you are in foul trouble, which our bigs were. We hardly ever draw a charge, or press, those two things can change the flow of a game when applied at the right time. Cals approach to a game doesn't seem to have much strategy as far a a game plan, just seems like getting certain players minutes and waiting to late to make changes, if at all.

Bradshaw chucking threes and Slouch Cal allowing it, is an absolute amalgam of our program NBA vocational preparatory academy...

Cal played him way to many minutes. He could not guard a fencepost ! He is much like Boston as they both are the worst 5 * I have seen at UK.
I agree. He is a player I actually feel bad for. He does try his best and hustle. I don’t believe Edwards does however.

We were playing very well this season until Bradshaw became healthy. Then Cal shoved him into all those minutes like a square peg in a round hole. We really began to struggle at that point.

Covid year. Dudes in college at 24-25-26 years old. Not the optimum time for a string bean, albeit I still say very talented, not the optimum time for someone not physically ready to come in to college ball. Maybe, with NIL, he'll come back next year and improve his game. Highly doubtful, but still a small chance.
