No idea if either would fit with scheme, recruiting, chemistry, or position coach duties but Miss St’s DC is a rising star and Derek Mason won a Broyles at Stanford. I really want someone to hire away Miss St’s DC this cycle more than anything.
Derek Mason would be a great addition for us. Is he at Missouri?
Muschamp could leave but he is sitting on nearly 30m from 2 buyouts, was making nearly 400k as an analysis. Not sure what it was when he become on field coach. Lanning was making 1.7m. I would hate to lose Muschamp, I think he is an excellent DC. But I really don't want to lose Glen Schumman who has been named Co DC with Muschamp.

Of course that’s the BEST option. Just because he’s down in LSU doesn’t mean he’s leaving.
I have no idea how the money would match up but that could be a factor.
Try to bring back Clinksale if White leaves.
Thinking about it…. Losing Sumrall is pissing me off . Why the hell does Troy come after our guys ? That’s 2 they’ve taken from us . Do other P5 schools lose coordinators to teams like that? Guess I’ve never noticed.
I believe both Brown and Sumrall had a stop at Troy before coming to UK. Not a bad place to live, since it's a stone's throw from the Gulf.
This. Incredible position coach and a noticable upgrade over house. House only seemed so good because he followed the godawful guy that left for Colorado. Anyone was an upgrade over that guy.
Also pellini was fired the last three or so stops because he was awful. Looks like the game passed him by. So no thanks

We can surely do better than Pelini. He has baggage from Nebraska and was fired at LSU after one season. He's so sporadic it's hard to know which Bo you'll get. As I said, we could do better.
Id rather have white...house wasn't much of a recruiter and white has started coming into his own in that regard. We've had a top 5 SEC defense since White has taken over as well if I'm not mistaken
House was only the DC in 2018....the best D since 1977 at UK. While White's crew crapped the bed in 2021 with what...10 Jr/Sr onk defense that he built up. White's best year was 2019 and UK put up a credible D after losing all the 2018 talent....but that was the year we played in like 4 games that the weather was abysmal to move the ball for offenses.
I'm fine keeping White but I'm not crying over losing him. I'd bring back Clink in a sec if Stoops thinks he's ready for that role and firm back up recruiting.
Our defense wasn’t great this year, I’m honestly surprised LSU is looking at him. I’d like him to stay but I wouldn’t write a blank check like Marrow.
Our defense was pretty solid until injuries hit.
So this news comes out 1-2 days before signing day? I don’t really see why Brian Kelly would want White.
And look at the quality of player he had to work with. 2018 had q, josh Allen, an entire secondary plus nickel that was NFL caliber.
Whites been excellent. Even this year with subpar corner talent, we played great until injuries really impacted us.
I wouldn't really care if summrall was still here. But we have noone remotely close to the ability to take that role except stoops himself. If we're hiring someone this late, it's likely an unknown which stoops likes to hire in defense anyway
House reportedly turned down both the University of Tennessee and Auburn University to become their defensive coordinator following the 2020 season, and elected to remain in Kansas City. Sounds like he might be happy winning a Super Bowl at KC.
Auburn is a mess right now. Rumors everywhere that he nor his wife are happy. Losing Nix to the portal when many thought his dad would become the new OC was a surprise. Mr Yella Wood was able to keep Tank. But regardless they have lost multiple offensive starters to the portal. I will say the WB they are signing looked very good in GHSA state championships last weekend.
UK doesn't play AU every year so them failing really doesn't matter. But they like Tennessee depend on hitting Grorgia hard for players. Richt really hurt UT, they haven't been very good since UGA hired him because he cut them off. Kirby has crippled both programs because they aren't getting any players he doesn't want them to have. AU signed Tank because UGA was and did sign Zack Evans. Should have taken Tank instead.
TN also had success in NC/SC for a time then Clemson pretty much shut that down.
I just hope that we are able to keep Brad White!! GO CATS!!
I'm not particularly worried about White staying or leaving. If he stays, ok, if he leaves I have confidence in Stoops finding a great fit that will advance the program. So this story is a big, meh whatever for me.
House also might be looking for a job.
KC might be firing the DC there as D is taking a lot of blame there.
All the time. Just looking at the landscape of college football in Conference USA, MAC and Sun Belt (3 similar conferences), the following schools current head coach was a P5 Coordinator in their position prior to take the HC job:
LA Tech
North Texas
ODU
Rice
UTEP
WKU
Kent State
Miami (OH)
South Alabama
Texas State
Troy
Others were position coaches from P5 schools, internal hires or failed P5 head coaches mostly.
