Pope did a very masterful job of coaching and to be honest we haven't seen a coaching job like he did since Pitino! Tubby was a good bench coach and got really good results out of 2 star and 3 star players but I still feel the early years of Pitino all the way through his tenure is the best comparison for Pope this past year.

Pope will be amazing when his rotations get a little tighter, I think at the end of the year he had little choice, but to play some bad lineups more than usual. Next year he won’t have a problem having five quality players on the floor at all times. He biggest thing will be finding the best offensive lineup. Shooting is definitely a little concern for me but we will have way better defensive lineups.

I think with all the great defense that the 25-26 Cats will play it's going to create some great offense. So to be honest I'm not all that concerned with shooting especially when or defense is going to be suffocating.

Cal had multiple recruiting classes ranked ahead of what you have. He’s just sold your fanbase on these Freshmen. Haven’t they got the news down in Arkansas that you need upperclassmen to win in this game now?
It takes a once-in-a-generation recruiting class to win titles. Duke had that class this past season. Arkansas doesn’t have anything close to that level of talent.

I’m saying the talent has left Fayetteville. Outgoing Theiro, Fland, Ivisic and probably Knox. The incoming players are not as good as the players leaving. I can’t see Wagner, Brazile and Richmond as the core of a team that will compete in the SEC.

Heard Arky was using Flands NIL for PJ Haggerty per Memphis radio. Either way it will be a busy backcourt for Cal.

There is no way Cal is going to select a starting PG over DJ. I believe Fland is going to the portal because he realizes that Cal wants DJ in that spot. DJ wouldn't have stayed without the guarantee. I think it is undisputable that Arkansas played better with DJ at the point. He can't shoot worth a damn, but he can distribute the rock.

I remember a road trip with my buddies in college to Texas and we drove through Arkansas. Had a put stop in Texarkana and had some phenomenal BBQ. I can’t remember what the difference is but all my buddies swore Arkansas BBQ is the best. I’m a BBQ simpleton and thought Famous Dave’s was good but I love good BBQ. Hard to find up here where I live. Tucson kinda had shitty BBQ too when I lived there or I just didn’t know where to find it

I don't remember great BBQ in Tucson either - and that city has like international awards for food / eateries I think

California had Tri-Tip -- awfully good beef but not REALLY BBQ like southerners would consider it (still damn good though)

We really don’t GAF man. Why on Earth would an Arkansas fan expect to come to a Kentucky board and try to persuade the fans on the board to realize Cal is a great coach after all? Cal got his hooks in a little more with a nice tourney run thanks to two absolute gift matchups before melting down. That was with an insane amount of talent.

Its ok. Another few disappointing seasons and scores of more weird pcs ans and you will eventually enter the acceptance phase. That's where you know cal is saying all the right things but will do whatever he wants anyway and you are screwed because if his contract.

They’ve got 14 more years before they will accept it. The recruiting classes really are enough to keep you intrigued until you eventually realize your team never seems to win big games anymore. Throws close games away and find your program setting new records in the worst way.

Cal with NIL getting players to come back is a better version than we had the last few years plus he actually seems to care now. Late in the year looked like old Memphis bully ball. Knox is the key to have a chance to be in the top tier with the other caveat of getting those ball-dominant guards to share.
