I am most concerned about Duke in this race. I know they visited him recently, and were said to be surging. Hopefully Kentucky has another chance with him and can convince him for good.

Have no clue why TCU is on the list unless he has some sort of connection. More emphasis on baseball than basketball at TCU.

Do the Duke insiders still believe that as of now or was this weeks ago? things change.

I haven't seen anything from anyone "in the know" which has changed recently; it seems the top guys still expect Bolden to UK. Duke is looking at another guy, Bruno Fernando, a center who is number 70 in the top 100. My guess is this is the second option, and most likely one.

Marques Bolden down to UK,Duke,OU, and TCU

Wonder how big of a player Oklahoma is in his recruitment. If it were any other year, I'd say not much but they may look enticing to him with the year they are having. Not sure who they have to will likely be returning next year but we know that Heild is gone for sure. I still think it comes down to us and the Dukies for his service. Have been hearing from a few places that he likes UK but his parents like Duke. So, we will see how this plays out.

If Bolden comes to UK along with the other five studs there is no need to play the season just mail the trophy to Kentucky.

It would be curtains.

I think whoever gets him between Duke and Kentucky will be the favorite and preseason #1

Woodard and Latin. But Bolden is a Cat bruh.

After we get Bolden then I want Alkins too. LOL. I know its unlikely to say the least but it would be pretty awesome.

The same person, Jeff Webster, who pushed Julius Randle to Kentucky is pushing Bolden there too.

Seems like I heard the same thing from a few people about last season......so...I guess we'll have to play it next year after all.

If this guy happened to pick us next year, it would be a gravy train with biscuit wheels!! We are already going to be loaded to the gills, and Bolden would just make us an the 31st best team in the NBA.

If Bolden comes, Cal will have a host of options. I think Hawkins gets the third guard role next year, while Mulder and Matthews will have plenty of chances early on to earn time. Willis either as a starter or off the bench gives UK solid depth. SKJ is probably a year away from a bigger impact.

My guess on the rotation (with Bolden):

Bam
Willis (at least initially; he provides nice spacing for the other four guys to operate).
Gabriel
Monk
Fox
-----first subs
Bolden
Hawkins
----- second sub
Matthews
----- third sub
SKJ
-----playing for a spot
Humphries
Wynyard
Mulder

Indeed. I think the biggest question going into next season is how competent Fox and Gabriel will be from three point range. UK will have Monk, Willis, and to a lesser degree, Mulder. If Fox and Gabriel can at least hit the open three the way Ulis did as a freshman, UK won't have many weaknesses.

It will be the year of the "super-team" again, much like 2015 was with UK, Duke, and Wisconsin. If State adds Jackson, they'll also be loaded. Meanwhile Duke is going to be able to run K's spread offense. The key for them will obviously be Giles' development post-injury.

Another big question for Duke might be whether they lose a few unexpected pieces this summer. Grayson Allen should make the jump now before he has to compete with Frank Jackson, Matt Jones, and Kennard. Yes, Allen would start again, but Jackson is a great player and could push him for minutes.

Should Duke and Kentucky matchup sometime in March/April of '17, I like what Gabriel brings defensively on both Tatum and Giles. You're right about the impact of Bolden to some extent. If UK lands him, it gives Kentucky the option of applying yet another mismatch on the floor and allows Cal to use Bam and Gabriel on Giles and Tatum without giving up fouls to Bolden.

As most Duke insiders expect Bolden to UK, every one of them is adamant that Grayson Allen isn't leaving this year. Some say it like it has already been discussed internally. Again, take it for what it is worth.

Personally I'm shocked anytime a Dukie doesn't stay four years.

Grayson Allen, leaving early? Dude gets his ass handed to him by inferior college players on the defensive end, he will be a trembling mass of tears in the NBA.....

***Hield, Cousins, Spangler & D. Walker gone after the season for OU.

Woodard, Lattin, Buford & Manyang back in terms of any guys who get mins. currently.

Allen is averaging 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists a game, while shooting 39% from three and 84% from the line. He is 6'5, 205 pounds, has a 6'7 wingspan, and is very athletic. Plus, he is a tough SOB; he is known for being aggressive and snarly and not fun to play against. I think maybe you are letting your (likely) one experience with him (the entire Duke team was terrible against UK) color your opinion of him. He most likely won't be a star in the league, but given his performance this year, and the relative weakness of this years draft, the idea of him going to the league (where he will obviously be at some point in the next few years) isn't crazy.

Where are Marcus Lee and Briscoe going this year? I think both will be back. I am sure if Bolden wants to come UK will make room. I guess it will be another year of riding the pine for Humphries and Wynyard.
