There has to be a pretty serious issue going on because he still isn't playing and it is KU we are talking about,if they are afraid to play him it is pretty bad.

That would seem most likely,you have to hand it to KU for being able to keep it under wraps for this long.I think an academic eligibility problem is a possibility also.Everything they have said so far is nothing but a smoke screen
True, who in their right mind would want to go to Lawrence KS in the middle of no-where to do an investigation? Have them mail it in, and we will do this by phone. That could be true, out of sight, out of mind. It seems like there is always a lot of secretive stuff going on out there.

IMO there are two possible reasons for the car accident story and Preston not playing. The first is the story is a cover and Preston was implicated in the FBI investigation. I don't think they would create a cover story for academic reasons since that wouldn't really reflect poorly on KU. If the NCAA ruled his high school transcript was too sketchy and he couldn't play, that doesn't really involve KU. Him being investigated by the FBI however, that would cause a KU cover up. The second possibility is that the car accident story they put out is true. If that's the case then it must have come out that the car was owned by someone that shouldn't be lending it to players, i.e. a booster or agent. But even that seems like something rather trivial that KU would just cover up like everything else they do. Why even report that and just punish Preston quietly, if at all. My money is on Preston being part of the FBI sting.

Ya'll are funny, but short on facts. Lawrence = 41 miles from KC metro area, which has population of 2,159,000. Closest major metro area to Lexington is Cincy----80+ miles away and population of only 2,137,406.
