Bill Self loses by 29??

UNC has 5 losses and Houston and UConn play a soft schedule but in general there has been more shakups in the top 25 than ever. Uconn lost to Seton Hall. If they played in the SEC they'd have a similar record to us, so would Houston.
Kansas has 4 players and is only 5 deep, Kentucky has 10 players and still can’t figure things out, yes there is a huge difference between the situations. Also Kentucky is losing games at home, while everybody is losing road games

I watched most of the Kansas /TT game last night and TT played good defense and just outplayed Kansas. Would not have mattered if they had everyone healthy because TT just whipped them . Made my day !
Self did us a solid, though, by denying UNC another title. Kansas will never catch us so he gets an ada boy for stopping UNC.

All the posters posting scores that are a shock it seems are doing that to somehow justify coach Cal's trainwreck of a program. (I know you were not, just replied to you. I hope you do not take offense.)
Yeah so I think it's silly to not be allowed to laugh at other coaches and teams when they suck. But I get it, that takes away from whoever wants to only focus on Cal like he's the only one. Life is short and I'm not that anal. When Kansas gets humiliated by 30, I'm gonna laugh my a$$ off. I need to laugh as much as I can these days. All the best, sir.

No reasonable person should be upset to the point of wanting to terminate a coach over 1 loss. KU seeding under Self:

KU has underperformed its seeding often but has 2 Titles. To me the seeding indicates a high level of consistent performance.

Until late, UK has over performed it seeding.
Self has maintained a much more consistent program under his tenure. If Cal would maintain more consistency and win the SEC more frequently than of late, there would be no issues for the overwhelming majority of the fanbase.

I don't see anyone wantibng Self fired, just that he got humiliated last night and ran for the shower. Wish I had watched the 2nd half but knew they'd lose after watching the first half.
Agreed. My point (not well articulated) is that everyone gets their butt kicked once in a while. Several will come using the loss as a justification of Cal especially when Self has an early exit from the tournament. Not implying you. But we have to admit over the past few years there have been numerous Faaar Self type threads posted in an attempt to mock those who have seen the decline of Cal’s performance.

Well, UNC lost to us. They also lost last week. So, they are losing games occasionally. UCONN , I agree.
Watched second half of this game - especially since Kansas was getting run out of the gym and fans were giving them a taste of what they give teams when home. The "over-rated" and "airball" (thanks Hunter Dickinson) chants were chef's kiss! A few observations:
-Self is a BIG baby when not getting the calls - the double T was overdue. He has gotten fat off the BIG 12 calls going his way certainly at home - but also away.
-Harris Jr had his best game against UK (to be fair - Cal allows many players to have their best game against his defense). Very avg otherwise.
-Dickenson is a CONSTANT moving screen/pick - attaches his shoulder to whoever he wants to restrict and runs along side them. Isolate watch him a few possessions and it's clear. Also a lazy and dirty player. Lots of grabbing - push offs - "accidental" arm swings where opposing player end up on the ground.
-Kansas NEVER gets the same treatment as far as rankings go as other teams. they may drop 1-2 places from that loss - gotta keep them as a #2 seed - right Joe?
-Exposed yesterday as very avg and very shallow.
-Fran Fraschilla continues to embarrass himself kissing Kansas, BIG 12, Bill Self ass. Unbearable unless you choose to make fun of him - which I do. The "He fouled Hunter first" rant was perfection. Smooch it Fran!

UK has had and still has plenty of injuries... this is about Kansas sucking - not about UK sucking and lastly - UK has a lot to overcome in Cal as HC - again not relevant to Kansas sucking independent of Cal.

The only thing I take from it is a lot less clear cut favorites and teams that have separated themselves.
More teams around the same level just makes it all the less likihood that UK (or whatever team) will win the entire thing.

My criticisms of Cal are for what I see him doing with our team. If he is drawing up dynamic plays and making key adjustments and we still lose like everyone else, that something. If he let's a team with inferior talent run the same play to score on 9 possessions in a close game on our floor, that's something else.

I believe Kansas has lost 0 home games this year.
They seem to get preferential treatment at home, but at least they take pride in protecting their turf.
I'm not ready to mock them when they are seemingly posed to take that all times win back in 1 season.

They aren’t watching teams play. They are using computers.
In basketball they rely on KenPom numbers way too much. They are flawed numbers from the start.
And they look at the worst analytic in basketball, the +-!
Even football is affected. The 49’ers said they made that dumbass decision in overtime because of analytics.

Houston lost to Kansas a little over a week ago...and it was never really that close. The Tarholes lost to a shockingly bad bottom feeding Georgia Tech Team, a pretty bad Clemson team last week, and us in December.
Not trying to be all Sunshine pumping so don't even go there, but I just don't see the big wealth of CBB juggernauts this year. As much as this season has sucked and the three consecutive losses not withstanding..we are what? Two games back in the SEC and we play one of the top two at home..
Now We don't defend very well, we don't rebound at times when we really need to rebound, and we don't appear particularly well organized or well coached. The biggest problem I notice with this team-and it was glaring during the Gonzaga game-is we're just not physically very tough and are subject to being manhandled. What gives me hope is that no one else looks particularly spectacular either. We could get hot and go on a bit of a run. Or not. It's extremely hard to tell in this barren landscape of CBB.

You’re right of course. But UK fans are pretty knowledgeable of the game, and can actually see the gaffs that Cal pulls as the coach, and it’s maddening.
I see all the stupid stuff he does as well. It's well past time to go for Cal. I just reserve the right to laugh at Self when he loses by 30 and leaves for an early shower just like I'm about to laugh at North Carolina for losing to the Cuse. You'd have to be REALLY soft if it bothered you that a UK fan on a sports board had fun watching other lose. I mean unless this is a fire Cal only forum where 100% of your energy has to be focused on Cal hatred? No thanks. Life's too short and I enjoy cheering against rivals as well as cheering for UK.
