I just read that. Pretty crazy. Sounds like Washington and Oregon aren't too confident they are getting the Big Ten invite.
If that happens, PAC is finished of course. If Big Ten goes forward with expansion with or without Notre Dame, that means they'll raid the ACC. So will the SEC.
UL may legit be screwed kek.
I would be surprised but I’m sure they hope you’re right. Think academics may be a hurdle for them in Big 10 although that standard might get thrown out the window if they’re taking a lot of schools. I see them ending up in the Big 12 in a division with Cincy and WVU.Big 10 will take them to get a foothold in an SEC state
Looking to add Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Arizona state. Colorado, and Utah. Wow it’s getting crazy!
Big 10 will take them to get a foothold in an SEC state
The only other PAC12 teams left would be Cal, Stanford, Washington St and Oregon State?
That pretty much confirms some P5 teams are not going to make the cut to get into the big conferences.
Supposedly they have reached out to washington and oregon which would be a huge deal for them if they can secure it. plus the other 4 pac teams, that will put them at 20.The Big 12 could have just added them if they had not already reached out to all these American conference schools first lol.

I guess technically big ten and sec dont have to expand since it's quality, not quantity. But if we are truly on the road to 3 20 team conferences, it's gonna be insane.
Yep UofL would need SEC and B1G to go to 24 to have a chance. If they just go to 20 they probably end up in Big 12Theres no way unless it expands to 24. I've read numerous reports of the schools Big Ten are looking at. None of them mention UL.
If that is the case then some of the top 60 are a bit bizarre to me as that means some from the Pac 12 and ACC will be left out in the cold potentially. I also do not think the SEC & Big 10 will respect the Big 12's 20 if it comes to that. They will be viewed as a minor league affiliate as they are.
The SEC should add VA Tech, NC State, and maybe Clemson and Miami or FSU and call it a day. I do not see Miami getting left out of the super conferences so perhaps the SEC will just balloon on up to 21-22 teams. lol
22. The Big XII is adding Brigham Young, Cincinnati, Central Florida, HoustonSupposedly they have reached out to washington and oregon which would be a huge deal for them if they can secure it. plus the other 4 pac teams, that will put them at 20.

I'm so confused right now. They're at 10 right now, but they're losing Oklahoma and Texas. So 8 plus 4 they're bringing in would be 12....plus the 6 they could potentially sign...thats 18.22. The Big XII is adding Brigham Young, Cincinnati, Central Florida, Houston
Right. I miscountedI'm so confused right now. They're at 10 right now, but they're losing Oklahoma and Texas. So 8 plus 4 they're bringing in would be 12....plus the 6 they could potentially sign...thats 18.
Regardless, everything is up in the air now and theres a new rumor every minute.
The newest one now is the PAC 12 has pitched the idea of an alliance with ACC to counter against big ten and sec
The bay market is huge, but no one is watching college ball. So what good is a disinterested market? What do you guys think about Stanford and Cal? The Bay Area market is pretty strong and they are top notch schools, academically speaking. I would think the Big 10 would target them next.
It makes no sense that they aren’t included as part of the the Big 12’s PAC 12 “expansion pack” unless they are still holding out hope for a Big 10 offer.
I've lived in the bay area for fifty years now and would agree with the statement above. There is some interest in a specific school but very little interest in any college football otherwise. The bay market is huge, but no one is watching college ball. So what good is a disinterested market?
You could play everyone every other year with a 10 game conference schedule, 1 permanent opponent and 9 rotating games. Of course that’s insanely hard and ruins a lot of rivalries. They like to watch 'ball games' in the Bay Area. You know what I'm talkin' about!!
Seriously, though, this consolidation is not going to be good for CFB, I don't think. If there's 20 teams in the SEC, there will be several that we only play twice in 12 years or something like that. How can THAT be a conference and engender any sort of rivalries?
As I said in another thread, with the # of bowl games, you'd surely have 2 SEC (or Big 10 or Big 12) teams playing each other. What's the point in that?
No way Stanford or Cal will go to Big 12. They are too left leaning and won’t go to any conference with a religious schoolWhat do you guys think about Stanford and Cal? Truth. I just moved from that shithole. Went to Cal games regularly. Legit felt like a small high school atmosphere. The Ole Miss game there (I think 2017) was hilarious. The Rebel fans were fired up and drunk, the Cal fans seemed so confused as to what was happening. The bay market is huge, but no one is watching college ball. So what good is a disinterested market?

This tracks pretty closely with my thinking. That could be a pretty fun conference. They could cobble together something similar on The other side of the country with the eastern most Big 12 teams and ACC leftovers.I think we see some effort to create a new conference. I could easily see an effort to create a western based athletic conference that tries to reduce some of the costs, and create something more attractive to maximize TV markets. I see a 16 team league that includes Oregon, Washington, Stanford, Cal, Utah, BYU, AZ, AZ St, Iowa St, Kansas, Colorado, OK St, TX Tech, Baylor, TCU and Houston.
To me, this combo gives you several important media markets, a very strong football league with 6 Teams that finished in the Top 25 last season. A very Strong Basketball league that had 6 teams that finished in the Top 25 and the National Champion. Yes it means leaving some quality teams out. Houston was my last team in and maybe they get swapped for someone like K State, but I believe this would give the best options for attracting a maximum TV deal, and keeping scheduling/travel costs manageable.
Lol screw Notre Dame. They think they can ride on their titles from years ago be independent forever. So rumor mill now says Notre Dame said no thanks...which will probably stop the Big 10 from going further.
Big 12 is still looking to add 6 teams from the PAC
The PAC however are trying to convince their teams to stay by making a deal with the ACC to balance against the SEC/Big Ten. This alliance would also have a championship game in Vegas.
Duke left out lol according to this post. Wow and lolLooking more and more like it's gonna be Utah, Arizona, Arizona St, and Colorado to Big 12. Probably to be announced pretty soon unless the PAC can somehow convince them to stay with the "PAC/ACC" unofficial league BS.
Oregon and Washington are still undecided. Seems like neither will get the invite unless Big Ten or Notre Dame change their mind. That puts the Big 12 to 16.
For what it's worth, Mountain West conference commissioner said they were contacted by some PAC teams about joining. This is most likely Washington St. and Oregon St.
Finally, rumors are heating up that UNC, FSU, Clemson, and Miami are moving to SEC.
“There are going to be two, at least 20-team conferences between the Big Ten and the SEC,” Donnan said.
The former Georgia head coach then named the four teams he has heard are on their way to the SEC.
“Miami, Florida State, Clemson, and North Carolina are going to be in the SEC pretty quick,” he said.
Yah no one cares about basketball lol. I knew Matt was full of it the other day when he said the SEC was clamoring to get Duke. He's dying for the SEC to be relevant in basketball.Duke left out lol according to this post. Wow and lol
He's always been a bit obsessed with having Duke, UNC, and UK together in a conference. I get it, but as you said, this has nothing to do with basketball.Yah no one cares about basketball lol. I knew Matt was full of it the other day when he said the SEC was clamoring to get Duke. He's dying for the SEC to be relevant in basketball.
Getting top VA & NC schools is a big deal. Personally, don't see choice of FSU over Miami given the media markets. Clemson currently big FB program attraction, but don't necessarily see them as a long-term big money adder. NCSt & VT & Miami all seem bigger in the regard to me. I suppose the SEC Commish knows a little that I don't.
Dldn't Matt go to duke? One reason I never cared for him.Yah no one cares about basketball lol. I knew Matt was full of it the other day when he said the SEC was clamoring to get Duke. He's dying for the SEC to be relevant in basketball.
