Some of us spend a lot of time getting invested in whether local blue chips will go to Kentucky or elsewhere. All the posts about:

Damien Harris, Drew Barker, James Quick, Eli Brown, Landon Young, Drake Jackson, Kash Daniels, Jedrick Wills, Wandale Robinson, Stephen Herron, JJ Weaver, Jared Casey, Bryan Hudson, Beau Allen, Walker Parks, Gavin Wimsatt, and many others.

...when the best one of the last ten years is probably going to be Michael Mayer who committed to Notre Dame so early he didn't get talked about much. I don't know if there's something to committing early or to Notre Dame (Mayer, Jacob Lacey, and Hunter Bivin) specifically that avoids attention.

(besides fact most of these prospects aren't program changers as history shows)

Is there someone you think will be better at the CFB and NFL levels than Mayer?

Mayer is a real talent. I think Jordan Dingle is developing into a player who could be an NCAA star TE. I also believe we may have two Kentucky kids starting at safety next year and both may have NFL potential (assuming Tisdale gets healthy). I thought OX would make more of a name for himself this year. Dane Key looks like the real deal. Get him stronger and more snaps and he could be a dominant WR. Go back years and Couch was a college star. I like what I am seeing in the development of Eli Cox. The talent in Kentucky has been good for the past 5 years. I think Stoops has contributed to that.

I saw Damien Harris in HS, and wasn’t super impressed to be honest. Nephew played at Pulaski County and they throttled him pretty good two years in a row. Had a decent career at Bama.
