Yeah, it’s a shame.
USC’s D kept U of L in it for as long as they could.
USC’s D kept U of L in it for as long as they could.
Things only get easier for UL, odds are FSU, Miami, UNC, Va., VA. Tech bolt to SEC and Big Ten which opens the door for UL similar to when they were in Big East. The real problem with that team/Brohm is unrealistic expectations and going forward. Their fans are going to expect 10 wins or better and more than what they got this year. Reality they are 6-7 win team this year with a decent schedule, next year they will have a worse record and they are going to be looking for a conference soon. Will they turn on Brohm again like Jurich and Petrino did and throw him under the bus again if he doesn’t deliver their national title 🙄
Waiting for RockyCard to come over here and tell us how their schedule is so much tougher than ours.
They should be grateful they didn't get UGA in the Orange. That would have been a blood bath.Couldn't happen to a worse bunch of fans.
I've really enjoyed watching their fall and their constant moving of the goal posts.
They were going to beat us because they had Brohm. They lost, but "Enjoy watching us in the Orange Bowl while you guys play in a crappy bowl." They of course wound up NOT getting the Orange bowl.
But then "Well, the Holiday Bowl is a special bowl steeped in tradition. USC is going to be such a huge win for U of L to end the season. San Diego is nice this time of year."
They lost that too. I assume we're back to "Brohm is going to beat you guys. He'll never lose to Kentucky again!"
I was just going by what another poster said. I will admit while I reveled in their pain, I didnt care enough to verify the opt out numberNot sure
Don't disagree at all. If those teams leave for greener pastures, how does the ACC not fall to a G5-level of conference. Adding Cal, Stanford and SMU doesn't add much to their football luster. Losing Clemson, FSU, UNC, Va Tech, et al would be a huge subtraction. No way that conference would be strong enough to warrant an automatic bid to the playoffs.Things only get easier for UL, odds are FSU, Miami, UNC, Va., VA. Tech bolt to SEC and Big Ten which opens the door for UL similar to when they were in Big East.
Really asking this ?Guys, we only beat them by a touchdown. Is this really necessary?
Their DL looked suspect to me. UL was pounding them on the ground for 220 yard and an avg of 4.9/carry. It also dominated the clock. UL had 2 TOs and USC had one costly TO on the goal line. This was a 7-5 USC team that put up 362 yards in the air with a first time starter and missing a number of players. That’s crazy high for a football school of that caliber. That offense was really good too. Shame he doesn’t seem to care much about defense. That’s what gets you a 7-5 (8-5 now) record with that talent.
A win is a win, but beating UT and UF the same year is what I call a step in the right direction.Really asking this ?
What were they ranked when we beat them? Where did we beat them? What did the loss do to them?
Yea it's necessary, how much should we have beaten them by as the underdog on the road?
That's a totally different discussion, and one I agree with.A win is a win, but beating UT and UF the same year is what I call a step in the right direction. Oh
Refs lol, same thing they’ve been saying for weeks after we beat that ass. Rent free.![]()
Even with 10 wins this was not a great season

Agreed. Beating UL has been pretty regular over the past 7 years.A win is a win, but beating UT and UF the same year is what I call a step in the right direction. Oh
Beyond me why a defensive player would want to play for Riley, he cares not one iota about D.USC D gave up an average of 35 per game.
Well for me …..just because I hate them and their fanbase doesn’t mean I consider them as rivals .A win is a win, but beating UT and UF the same year is what I call a step in the right direction.
We should have never gotten ourselves in a situation where we see them as rivals.
Oh for sure. But then they'd still brag they were in the Orange Bowl. They should be grateful they didn't get UGA in the Orange. That would have been a blood bath.
Could not have said it better.Don't disagree at all. If those teams leave for greener pastures, how does the ACC not fall to a G5-level of conference. And, don't get me started on auto bid for 'best' G5 team. Tulane was the odds-on favorite almost the entire year to be the best G5 and they got waxed in their bowl game by 3 TDs by a .500 Va Tech team. I guess SMU, at #24, is the G5 'best' team. In what universe should they be allowed to play against Michigan or Alabama or UDub or TX? I would expect the G5 team to become the March Madness equivalent of a 16-seed: glad to be there but only once in a blue moon will they be competitive or actually win. And, a deserving team from a major conference with 2-losses will miss out.
They think their D held FSU from scoring... it wasn't that they were missing qb's.![]()

Yes. I live near Louisville and have to listen to them yap every time they beat a team ranked in the 50's+.Guys, we only beat them by a touchdown. Is this really necessary?
He's just a notch above .500 as a P5 coach, no reason to think his U6 escapade will be different.Did Brohm really do that well at Purdue? It appears to me it was just kind of flat and average for several years.
THIS....FSU was one deminsionable the entire game. And 7's still got out played and coached. They think their D held FSU from scoring... it wasn't that they were missing qb's.
So, what do you think the conversation would have been if we had LOST to this UL team???A win is a win, but beating UT and UF the same year is what I call a step in the right direction.
We should have never gotten ourselves in a situation where we see them as rivals.

50%of our offense is not playing tonight. Jawhar and Thrash were our difference makers because they are so dam good. Colman and Calloway are 10% less twitch. Their guy has it.

Riding Guerendo is not so bad but the D has to help.
I see this moron is still around from the past and still an idiot.
Failed to mention Caleb Williams and 10 other USC starters didn't play.
And a USC D that was beyond bad the entire season.
Not everyone. Look where they were ranked all season.Everyone knew UL wasn't any good all season. They should have lost 5 or 6 regular season games and that's in the mediocre at best ACC.
yep, he got drunk and went on a rant,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, it happensGot the ban-hammer after we beat them, dude was freaking tf out.

We should never be at a point where beating Louisville is a “big win”.So, what do you think the conversation would have been if we had LOST to this UL team???
So, YES, it was a big win for us, and a HUGE LOSS FOR THE CARDS.
I agree with CMS on this one. NEVER apologize for a win.
National sports media's lofty ranking of U6 made it a "big win.' UK had nothing to do with their ranking. We should never be at a point where beating Louisville is a “big win”.
You can set your calendar by it...Clemson is a pretty good team but the ACC is so weak and it kills Louisville fans to admit it.
I'm guessing next year will be the same. They will have a better record than us going into the game and will be mouthy. Assuming we are healthy I'll take us right now
Knoxville has beaten us for decades save 3 games and yet they still get great enjoyment smack talking UK and reveling in our shortcomingsWe should never be at a point where beating Louisville is a “big win”.
We were a dog in the game, at their place, with them running their mouths like they were Goliath. Yes it’s way necessary.Guys, we only beat them by a touchdown. Is this really necessary?
Next year they avoid all the good teams in conference again. Not sure how that’s possible but go look at next year. EASY PEEZY DEEZY. WOW. They do get Clemson but avoid Fl. St. , North Carolina and Duke. Basically the same schedule as this year exchanging Clemson for Duke. I see minimum 9 wins.
