Basketball redshirt question…

I know in football a player can participate in up to 4 games and still be allowed a redshirt year. What are the rules in basketball? I ask because of Trent Noah…. With his limited play time thus far and who knows if he will be utilized down the stretch… what would be the chances of him utilizing a redshirt year for this year. I think Trent has a very bright future and a ton of upside so the extra year would be huge for both him and UK if possible. Thanks
