Barnhart should be run out of Lexington for not hiring Petrino!

I get it the guy is a complete jerk and a horrible husband. But he can win. Dude knows football. I mean Arkansas was neck and neck with LSU and bama while he was there. Hindsight is 20/20 but if you wanted a winning football team by year 2/3, that was the path to go.

No. He's a bad husband, has bad temperament, and bad father. He's a bad friend to his neighbor as well. He also cheated on his math exam in 8th grade. Heard it from a former teacher. We don't need that here. We have Barnhart and morals. Alabama agrees, we don't need Petrino. Blue balls. Or black balls.

I agree with Indiana basketball. Morals over wins. Rewarding.

I am sure Nick Saban has been a choir boy his entire life. Ask Alabama how his hire is working out?

Had Petrino been at UK, he would have left when Louisville came open

Again, this ship has sailed, so there's no use in talking about it. But.

This is completely false. UK would have had a massive out clause for him. There's no way he could have left. There would have been too many stipulations in his contract. He was willing to sign damn near anything. Also he couldn't have left anyway. The damage of leaving another program that soon would have derailed him completely.

But carry on with the myths.

Had Petrino been at UK, he would have left when Louisville came open
and that fat buy out clause we'd put in his contract would have put the $$ in our hands to go get another good one. beats having less to spend because we have to buy out the bad coach we now have

God just STFU and go root for the Cards then. Cheating and being a complete scumbag isn't the only way to win at football.
Let's see, in my lifetime, we've had a grand total of one, 1 coach that was even close to making us competitive that was not eventually found to have violated rules. You may be right that having a cheating scumbag is not the only way to win, but apparently, we've not figured out how to go about it.

Wasn't BP banned by the SEC, or was that a rumor? If he wasn't banned he should have been. But then money talks, right Slick Rick?.

Exactly what other offers did he have besides WKU? Wasn't that considered just a stopover for things to cool off enough for jurich to take him back? A better question is who was bidding against jurich that made him throw a $22,500,000 contract at him, and why the $500,000 bonus for the "perfect" APR (LOL) that he had nothing to do with, the normal bonus is $50,000.

We have all heard of the $100 handshake, an art perfected by hurtt (who really believed the $5,000 "loan" from the $930,000,000 con man was an emergency so he could pay his power bill?), you know how money flows under jurich, maybe there are $100,000 handshakes between the two of them.

Leave him in his cesspool, a perfect place for him, where else could you find such a threesome, and actually it was a foursome before the NCAA made things too hot for hurtt------if they hadn't bungled the U investigation so badly UL would be on probation now, no way they could have withstood a full scale investigation.

This discussion should have never been necessary, BP should still be serving his jail sentence for misuse of public funds, sad that some of our fans make us look so bad with all this speculation.. But, as I said, money talks to our legal system run by our lawyers with the judges more lawyers with robes on.

Did you just see BP hurdle that defender for a TD, impressive, no wonder you guys want him so badly-----LOL.

Please reference when he has cheated? Please use the same references you provide for Cal when he is accused. I admit I was a big advocate of hiring him. I admit he has character issues and all that jazz. He broke a law at Arkansas but no NCAA rules. Whats the big deal with breaking a law? We have someone running for the highest seat in the land that broke much greater laws. Point is no one was indicted in either case. So the only reason for not hiring him is he wouldnt meet personal moral standards of certain fans. I get that, I accept that. But it doesnt change the fact that we had a chance to hire a proven winner and we passed. Just like we did on Schnelly. Its on us. But at least some of you can sleep at night knowing we hired a saint. Saint Stoops of Neverwinnington. Has a nice ring to it.

Im not giving up on this staff yet but its hard to stomach what were seeing when you know we could have had better. Then factor in how much he hates us and the fact that were gonna play them every Thanksgiving weekend until the end of time and its pretty sickening. And we did it to ourselves. The story of UK football for my entire existence has been all about self inflicted wounds so I guess I shouldnt be surprised. On the flipside, had we hired him. Lamar Jackson would already have us back on the map. Im just sick about it all.

its the SEC. Give us the UL crap schedule in most of those years and we're bowling at least 2x the rate which would help recruiting. Not that I would ever want to leave the SEC.

Im getting to that point. Im a football first guy with basketball waaaaaay behind. For 61 years Ive been disappointed. For the last 30 of those Ive watched Louisville climb from lower than EKU to the ACC and where they are now. Meanwhile Ive been stuck on the spin cycle. The great news is I know all good Louisville folk so I dont get tortured. Thats the only thing that makes it bearable. I dont think I could handle being in a workplace nowadays listening to all the talk. Glad Im retired.

That really stinks. For what it's worth, I don't like where Kentucky is right now, or the last six years, but I think we can compete without hiring someone as corrupt as Petrino.

Basically I'm okay with anyone but Petrino or Briles. Maybe throw in Kiffin.

Agree, but while we are in the SEC, apparently we are not willing to focus resources on Football the way successful SEC schools do. Compare Alabama, Auburn, etc.. expenditures on Football with ours.

God some of these fans sound IDENTICAL to Indiana basketball fans. There's literally no difference. It's like listening to political contributors downgrade "the rich" then when their candidate is extremely wealthy "the Rich" is no longer a problem. It's horse crap all the way around.

oh we the fans most certainly were lied to. They pumped promises and sunshine up all of our azzes all spring and summer long just to get butts in seats.

YOUR 2016 KENTUCKY HOOSIER BASKETBALL FOOTBALL!!!

** disclaimer : if you're expecting wins, don't. But, we've got brand new shiny chrome helmets and clown patch checker board sleeves. Bring out the kids for a free clown show!

Unfortunately, it's easier to make excuses and take a phony moral high ground than it is to build a football program. It will never happen under Mitch Barnhart's "leadership". And apparently we have some fans who are satisfied with that.

Exhibit A. Clint Hurtt
Exhibit B. Karen Sypher

Shall I go on?

Your argument is about Petrino and football.

Exhibit A [Hurtt] was a Cholly Strong Assistant that would have zero negative connotation if Mitch (mr Moral) hired Petrino.

Exhibit B [Sypher] was the restaurant whore sucking Pitino (basketball coach's) shlong... Once again having zero to do with Bobby Petrino.

So, I'm confused by your argument because it's completely retarded.

But... Go on, please. Tell me how Stoops is the best hire Mitch could've made... I mean we stole him from the rest of the ADs (said no AD ever).

You are as ignorant as Mitch.

Not hardly. It's obvious, look at everything that's going on there. It's just a matter of time.

There's a reason why Louisville is the only place that'll touch him. For as great as some folks believe this guy to be, he sure isn't missed at Arkansas or WKU.
