because that is the only way we will attract a high level coach to replace GH.

My choice is Chris Burke. He has been around the SEC as an analyst. he is from Louisville, he played at Tennessee and played in the Major Leagues. I feel that he will bring in some recruits that want to play in the SEC and play for an ex-major league player.

I still don't get the Chris Burke thing... he's never coached any baseball to my knowledge. How can you hand over the reins of an SEC program to a guy that's never even coached at a level above high school? I would be fine with him as an associate head coach or an assistant of some sort, but not running my team. In my opinion, if he was serious about coaching he would have taken a job as an assistant coach or a head coach at a smaller southern school 7-8 years ago after he allegedly interviewed for the UT position. Since he didn't do that, and bolster his actual coaching resume, I don't see how he is that qualified. Of course, this is just my opinion, which doesn't amount to anything.

I don't think he'll get a high level coach. We will get a guy that is either an assistant or a lower level guy who is an up and comer. Being a head coach in the SEC should be a big enough draw, however, if I am taking the job I want to see UK give me an agreement that includes those upgrades or something to that effect.

Yeah, I'd want some coaching experience...and by that, I would want someone who is more experienced on the administrative side, running practices, running a program, recruiting experience and strategy,

I bet Burke could "manage" the actual games - but all of that other stuff I just don't see how you'd do it unless you have experience...(unless he could lure top assistants)

Gabe...agree with everything except the CB hire, but the stadium process needs to become priority#1 right now so that during the hiring process it doesn't become the BS stuff that has been told for the last 10 years

Stadium will be going fast enough and they have the location and design. The Chris Burke suggestion I strongly disagree with for several reasons. Just because you played the game does not mean you can coach, and besides coaching recruiting is a huge deal. Not just having a name kids know, but knowing how to identify prospects that project, can still grow and develop, can determine which kids to not waste time and money on who have no plans to go to college... - hardest part of college baseball recruiting.

I think this was something that Henderson/Bohannon actually struggled with. I think they were often able to get commitments from some big time prospects, but too many times these these kids headed to the pros. For example, this year we have 5 guys possibly going pro. Last year we had Plummer and Blankenhorn head pro, as well as losing Shumpert to JUCO. We lost Hollon, Green, and Clifton in 2013. In 2015 our recruiting was ranked 63, 2014 it was 40, and 2013 it was 50. So, I feel like we didn't do a great job of finding and signing good second tier recruits.

By the way, what happened to Keegan McHood?

McHood redshirted from what I understood but I never saw him with the team after the first SEC weekend.
