Barney will be in a pickle after this football season...

Kirby did too, and so did Ryan Day. No one is blaming the ADs at either of those places.
I think maybe you have more interest in defending our AD performance than I am of defending or criticizing yours or Ohio State's. Although first glance I'm not sure how the OSU AD can take heat with the NIL for their team this year. And maybe UGA NIL is short but they have had the top football department budget in a conference full of teams competing in football. But I can't act like I know what's going on in-depth at either of those places. I will certainly say this, every coach did complain about it because everybody always wants and needs more even if they are in a good current spot. But any UK fan knows we are about the last to get on board and for the first couple of years barnhart would get on radio and talk about it like they weren't going to chase that stuff and it would be changed by the NCAA etc...except it didn't change.

His strengths in his time here is maybe in organization and if you like volleyball and all of that he has chosen to make moves in sports where it's easier to make moves in relative dollar spends. He's stodgy, which could be argued it supplies stability but in this day and age it actually requires flexibility and vision/foresight. But he has struggled as an outside fundraiser from the get go and had been fortunate that this tv money era helped fit his mo because he didn't have to go glad hand or raise it. NIL changed that dynamic to back when he first came to UK and really benefitted the AD's willing to get out and shake bushes. That has never been him. These are not unknown things about him with the fanbase but I would add that I knew/know 2 asst AD's from his first UK staff, one of which is an AD himself now, and it's accurate to say he's MIA when it comes to drumming things up or even assisting with it. It isn't even near being in his personality toolbox.

Mitch is like 2 to 3 years away from retirement.

Possibly. Mitch is 65 years old. Most men are seriously entertaining retirement at his age.

He couldn't care less about anything at this point.
Garbage. Mitch's career will be judged in hindsight, to a great extent, by what he accomplishes in the next several years. To say that isn't important to the man is essentially to confess you don't have any earthly idea.

You talking 2 different budgets, UGA's athletic budget is not the same as the NIL budget. The AD has no control over NIL, I am sure Kirby has more say where the NIL money goes than the AD. I am not defending the results of the football team, it was lower than what everyone was expecting. What i am defending is the job has done with the entire athletic program. He has made some good/great hires, keeps the program in the black, made huge upgrades in facilities.

The biggest thing i see him catching heat for is the buyouts, which all the BB fans wanted when he was rolling and the same with Stoops when he won 10 and fans were afraid someone would steal him away. When ADMB signed those contracts the fans were elated, until a bad season or early exit from tourny, then he becomes a moron for giving coach the contract.

Well facts show Stoops is 2-12 in his last 14 SEC HOME games . ( damn I hope thats right , I've been there I should know) . So I mailed my season ticket invoice back in with this written on it " No thanks , I'm not renewing until Stoops in gone" written on it . And 2 other couples ho tailgated with us are doing the same. 5 years in a row for us , but I've had enough , I'll vote with $$$ .
