between UK and Texas apparently.

I was nervous the longer this went on the worse it was for UK. Would be a big blow if Cal can't get him.

It seems like, and I am probably wrong, but it seems like we lose recruits like this, that take forever. I'm sure we have got some but it sure feels like we don't.

Let's see: a coin flip to decide one of a young man's most important life decisions, between a football school that rarely sniffs much in the way of post-season action or national TV exposure. Or, the top basketball program of all time that is featured on TV all the time and goes deep in the post-season year after year. Hmmmm...

I posted the same a couple weeks ago.
I still think uk holds a slight edge here.
Cal is tough to beat down the stretch.
Shaka really selling this incoming class and the future of Texas hoops.

If Bamba goes to Texas and we lose Diallo, next year will be... interesting. Oh well, we won the draft title and that's what matters most.

I guess Cal needs to quit going after top players. Everyone was really happy with Tubby days.

The other option is to at least stop putting their best interest over his, which I'm not for. Until NBA passes a 2 year rule Cal is doing it right & no one is better at it.

His decision may really be up in the air but I what I think is most likely the case is his camp is being very tight lipped and not giving out any information one way or another so people that are supposed to be in the know are covering by saying he is torn.

Don't think so.
He is torn. This wouldnt be a contest if not for his relationship with Shaka.

I think this may be Bamba's way of giving credence to Shaka and the job he's done recruiting him. I think it comes down to who will better prepare him for the next level. No debate that is Cal.

If Shaka is really selling Bamba on the incoming class that Texas has, what is he saying in comparison to Kentucky's class? Everyone mentions Bamba's intelligence, well I think it's safe to say he is overthinking this.

Hey no big deal. We most likely are the home of "NONE AND DONES" going forward so this is not that big of a deal.

So it'll be interesting (you mean below what you expect) without our two highest draft prospects but you're mocking "winning the draft title?"

I'd love to hear the logic that allows for those two statements to both be true in your head. Are draft picks important or are we going to be just fine without two potentially top draft picks?

I LIKE OUR CHANCES ..............HE'S A SMART KID THINK HE HAS KNOW FOR A LONG TIME WHERE HE'S GOING.

Bamba is too smart of a kid to go to Texas to play basketball. Do they even get top football players anymore out of state? let alone basketball players

Bamba will not go to texas. Not no way not no how. You heard it here first.

I think Bamba knows which school is the smarter choice but I think he'll struggle greatly to tell Shaka "No".

Shaka...trying to sell guys on the fact they will start winning. He told Allen that to & they went 11-22.

Shaka using Jarrett Allen as a selling point no doubt. Wouldn't be the stupidest decision picking Texas... Certainly not like picking Cal, Miss St, Alabama, Western Kentucky, Missouri and the like.

Regardless, it's awfully hard justifying anyone other than a relevant blue blood

I'm hoping this is shades of Randle. For those who don't recall, it was always presented as a toss up, with Kansas making a late surge. Later it came out and Randle and Cal knew he was coming to UK for multiple months.

Some kids don't want the scrutiny that comes with being a UK basketball player.

There are to many indicators pointing towards UK. This is a set up to make the announcement a little more dramatic.

He is a top 5 pick regardless of his destination.

So the decision may come down to where does he want to hang out for the next 6-9 months.

Worked out well for those not "smart" enough to make better preparation decisions. Longevity means things in the pocket in the NBA.....Cal makes the pockets jingle a WHOLE lot more than any other coach in this day and time. (ANY other coach) Many may debate a top draft pick will still be a top draft pick after a year but NO ONE can debate whether UK top draft picks make the jingle down the road. Go ahead...challenge that statement...

You're not very bright. We're going to win the "draft title" this year with 4 first rounders (Diallo will be a first round pick if he goes) and being the first school with a "none and done" and we'll have nothing to show for it. Will also be great when we're a 5 seed next year and we lose 6 players to the draft, several of whom aren't projected to be first round...
