I love this dude. This is a player where I watched the game and said I want that dude. Make it happen pope.
Yeap. Reid played less minutes than Dioubate. Stevenson started 22 gasmes, played more minutes, 18.7 to Dioubate's 16. But averaged less per game in EVERY stat. The guy is clueless. Maybe Dioubate should have gotten some of Stevenson's minutes. Dioubate was only a sophomore on a very deep and talented Alabama roster. I would love to have Dioubate for 2 years.Darrion Reid started 3 whole games(on the season, total) at SF, while Stevenson started 22 games at SF.
You're loud, obnoxious, and plainly wrong
He averaged 2.4 fouls per game.Doesn’t he get in foul trouble a lot maybe limiting his minutes?
To be honest, I’m not sure it’s unfair to say that he can’t shoot in the sense that people usually mean that. He has an extremely awkward release on his jumper and won’t take it unless he’s left all alone, so don’t read much into the small sample size from 3. He’s also a liability at the free throw line (47% last year, 61% this year). He’s an energy guy who gets almost all of his offense at the rim, often on putbacks. He definitely does some things well, but he’s by no means a floor spacer. He averaged 2.4 fouls per game.
LOL, the one guy getting abused in this thread said he couldn't shoot ? Shot 65% from 2FG, and VERY low attempts (12/26), but shot 46% on 3FG attempts. So recap, 65% on 2s and 46% on 3s means you can't shoot ?
12/26 from 3
88/136 on 2 pointer attempted
Per 40 minute averages :
18.1 pts. / 14.8 rebs. / 2.8 assist / 2.4 steals / 1.9 blocks. Nah, we do not need a guy like that for 2 years.
My eyes were opened to Dioubate when UK played Bama in Rupp. In under 15 minutes of action, he had 8 points, 8 boards, 3 assists, a block, a steal and ZERO turnovers. The guy exudes toughness and competitive fire and he would be a very worthwhile addition at Kentucky.I’d be happy to add him
I said it was on low attempts from 3. But you see fans prop up a guy they like on the very same thing. I would want ANY player to only shoot if they are open. Last thing we need is a guy jacking 3 after 3 while guarded. VERY FEW guys can hit 3s at a good rate with guys in their face. Shows me he has good shot selection. I don't GAF what it looks like, if it splashes the net, I don't care if he shoots it underhanded. To be honest, I’m not sure it’s unfair to say that he can’t shoot in the sense that people usually mean that. I’m not an insider at all but someone asked me my opinion in another threadI thought earlier today that Yaxel was not going to UK at all either pro or Auburn or Michigan. Is that not the case, I know there are 100 guys trying to scoop stuff online and I look at some but take all with 100lb grain of salt. Do you think we still have a shot at Yax or is he more than not a Pro? Would have to see him at Auburn.
I stated in another thread yesterday… Rumor is it's either NBA, Michigan or Auburn with not really a mention of KY. I’m no insider just going by things I readI thought earlier today that Yaxel was not going to UK at all either pro or Auburn or Michigan. If that’s the case, and Bama has already been outbid where they said, we’re out, then Pope can put his quarter back in to his pocket, and not even waste his time on a phone call.Apparently Bama made a strong effort to keep him ($$$) but every time Bama took the lead the agent would get a larger bid elsewhere. Oats and co said “enough” and let him walk. I think he could go to the right offense, up his minutes to 26-30 and really shine for somebody. In Oats offense nobody, outside of a few guards, is going to log a lot of minutes. Bigs are going to find themselves in foul trouble which is why he is going to rely on 4-5 of them over the course of a game. Reid is expected to leave as well and who knows with Stevenson.

As long as he doesn't let them hang around the OL I'm good with itPope is determined to have a much more mental and physical tough team entering the season. A couple of things he is considering is using football dummies in practices and possibility hooking up Coach Stoops and together they put the players in football drills Stoops uses, weightlifting and anything else the football program uses to increase mental and physical toughness. This is why there is some interest in the AL guy.
I would prefer him over Alvaro if it's one or the other. I watched Alvaro and he just seems like a shorter Carr that played in a worse league.
This guy is kind of mean. Not just physical. Have watched him in other games not us. Do we want the physicality over the shot blocking?
We desperately needed physicality this year. Yes. Get a mean streak in the locker room. This guy is kind of mean. Not just physical. Have watched him in other games not us. Do we want the physicality over the shot blocking?
why would anyone want to pattern anything after Stoops? Most of his teams are man handled by opponents and have very little discipline.Pope is determined to have a much more mental and physical tough team entering the season. In the videos I watched he didn't seem to be a great defender but I could be wrong.I do worry about his athleticism but he apparently has a 7’6” wingspan.
Well, Stoops himself likes toughness, roughness, physicalness and all that. But, they did not get many players like that. Hopefully a bunch of these new guys will have that in them.why would anyone want to pattern anything after Stoops? Most of his teams are man handled by opponents and have very little discipline.
We've had some differences in the past let bygones be bygones you're spot on here bnewtwhy would anyone want to pattern anything after Stoops? Most of his teams are man handled by opponents and have very little discipline.
Highly doubt CMP gives him 26-30 minutes per game in his system.Apparently Bama made a strong effort to keep him ($$$) but every time Bama took the lead the agent would seek a larger bid elsewhere. Can tell you the guys we have coming back is not going to enjoy practicing with this guy in scrimmages. He is a step or two above physical. The health of his teammates may want to be considered. We desperately needed physicality this year. Yes. Get a mean streak in the locker room.
Boogie, Deandre Liggins, WCS, Kriisa... Need guys who aren't afraid to throw down, talk smack, and even initiate some fire. Not get in fights, mind you, but exert their will against the opponent.
nope, you need to look again, Carr didnt shoot nearly as well from the outside and he couldnt dream of passing as great as Folgueiras does. passing the ball is why you go for him first to start, not only does he score himself but he accounts for others scoring pts too. Think back to 1998 and why Scott Padgett was so pivotal to a title teamI would prefer him over Alvaro if it's one or the other. I watched Alvaro and he just seems like a shorter Carr that played in a worse league.
Look at his numbers, 0.3 made and 0.7 attempts a game. thats in Oates 3pt attempt offense that was more than our team shot, let that tell you something, 60% FT's suggests he would have shot a lot worse had he attempted more Folgueiras is a legitimate 40%+ 3pt shooter.A PF that averages double digit rebounds and shoots over 40% from 3? How many times did Carr do either?
