He's really not that impressive IMO.
Averaged 7 points 6 rebounds 1.6 stocks a game in 16 mpg this past year. 6 double doubles off the bench
3 games vs the cats 8.3 PPG and 7 RPG

Those stocks are worth a lot less after these last few days. Kid’s value is tanking, I say we pass.

Bama already had three althletic, long forwards in: Reid, Stevenson, and Dioubate . Then they signed Bol…..wouldn’t be surprised if a 2nd Bama forward goes portaling.

I was impressed with him every time I watched them play this year.
I just looked at his stats, and they support that.
He played just 16mpg.
His per30min stats were:
13.5 pt, 11.1 reb, 1.7 stl, 1.3 blk (so 3.0 Stocks)
64.7% 2pt%, 46.2 3pt% (12-26)
The FT line is not his friend 60.9%.
He doesn't put up big numbers but I think in his limited time he could be a good physical guy for us. He has experience in the SEC. But we'll see.
When Bama's big man got into foul trouble I was like yes, we can now dominate the paint. Then this dude came onto the court and proceeded to kick Amari's ass and then took his lunch money. He impressed me in the games we played and the other games I saw him in.
Bama has been good the last few years. But getting guys they recruited over is not how you build a team to compete with them.
He was a fan favorite at Bama just for how hard he plays. One of those guys who has a nose for the ball and usually makes something happen with his energy when he checks in. The knock I would have on him is that he’s kind of a tweener. Not big enough to be a true low post player, not enough of ball handler or shooter to be a perimeter threat. We really only have 1 spot left on the wing and seem to be prioritizing scoring with it, so I’m not sure what our interest level would even be.
He was good enough for me to remember him .. and I dont recall everyone at all.
He’s the exact type of glue guy we needed against UT in the sweet sixteen. I’d take him in a heartbeat

1st game - 8/8/3 with 1 steal in 14 minutes
2nd game - 4/5 with 1 steal in 14 minutes
3rd game - 13/8 with 1 steal and 2 blocks in 22 minutes.
If he just played 30 mpg, he would have a double / double average. Look at the total picture before talking bad about a player.
His per 30 minutes average for the 3 games would be 14.7 points / 13.16 rebounds. But he didn't have success against us this year. Geez some people need to think before posting.

Also this is a prime example of over recruiting on your roster. To me he is as good as Bol. He played 2nd string minutes. Bol was a starter, which makes a big difference.
You can't over sign in this era. The portal makes it easy to jump hop to a better opportunity! That's why IMO it'll be hard to sign someone to come off the bench, unless they see 25 minutes a game or there a 3 point specialist, that gets exposed elsewhere. If you sign a starter piece you might have one of your own jump ship!
But having said that, we have starter minutes at PG/PF. There is a problem somewhere,it obvious.

Mitch was about two years behind on NIL when it first started and it was a big part of why the football team has bottomed out. No surprise that he’s playing it safe here even though it seems everyone else is going balls to the wall because nothing is enforced anyway.
Geez people like you think if he was so great then Bama would’ve played him more and he wouldn’t be leaving. So why’s he leaving he’s a roll player. It can be difficult for some to produce at there best when they don't get many minutes. Little like chandler, once Robinson was out and he started getting regular min he got better and better!
And I think he could take a oweh/saunders like jump next year!
Reid started and Stevenson backed up Nelson so you LITERALLY don’t know squat.
Darrion Reid started 3 whole games(on the season, total) at SF, while Stevenson started 22 games at SF.
