On the final drive what's the point in keeping Leary in? Not only are we risking a dumb injury to Leary but also not giving any reps to the guy we will rely on if Leary gets banged up.

He’s always done this. I remember Benny’s last year they played him at the end of blowouts. I couldn’t believe they would risk getting him injured but Stoops has always done this. If the backup QB ever gets in they just hand the ball off.

Stoops never plays the backup QB.
He's never had an offense that regularly allows him to pull the ones. He does now.

Leary is coming back from a weird surgery, is in a new system, and dealt with illegal formations and low snaps stalling drives. Rust and errors are to be expected even though, admittedly, I hoped Leary would come out and light Ball State up.

It's pretty clear that Leary needs all the reps he can get at this point to get him back into the swing and speed of college football. I think we'll see Sheron out there in the fourth quarter in the coming games.

The team couldn't have played sloppier and we still trounced BS. We have tremendous upside once Leary and the snapping/lining up errors are corrected.

Great

Great summary and evaluation of today's game and the team. I think you are spot on. Now we just have to wait and see if they start cleaning things up. We didn't see the best effort from this team today and still won by 30. Let's see if there is big improvement in areas of concern next week. Have a feeling Stoops is very unhappy with what he saw today, coukd be a tough week of practice coming up.

'preciate it, though I'll keep bitching cuz I'm still pissed at the refs blowing that scoop and score dead. I hope Stoops loses his shit to the right people. Two HUGE blown calls. We won that game by 37.

Leary wasn't accurate on his long throws. Receivers were covered but ball wasn't even close. Not a good game for him.
Long throws were off a few times, but the best of his throws were still uncatchable because the DBs went for PIs to prevent TDs.
