Automatic Extension based upon Wins was Eliminated in Last Amended Contract.

Had an argument with a friend that thought Stoops gained another contract Year with 7 wins in 2025.

I thought it was 9 wins.

We were both wrong.

I read the last amended contract, and section 1(b) (automatic extension) of the original contract is entirely eliminated in paragraph 4 of the Sixth Amended Contract. Coach Stoops still gets incentives, galore, but not an automatic extension.

….at least that ridiculous clause has been done away with. He’s still obscenely overpaid, certainly for the results he has delivered since that fateful November sit down with Mitch.

Mitch made a good move with removing that and a terrible move with transitioning from his buyout being over the life of the contract to being a lump sum payment if he’s fired.

Most overpaid coach in America according to results. Miami coach probably worse this year but was a QB injury from the playoffs last year.
