Auburn....why so high?

I expected the OP to be on a completely different subject, taken from the Panama City police blotter.

I will agree on Florida and Notre Dame class rankings so I concede that point. I do think that those teams were not as motivated as AU will be in the opening game. I also believe UL does not have depth for substitutions on defense against a fast paced offense. Muschamps defenses have always been solid so I expect significant improvement and I expect UL offense to struggle.

So Notre Dame wasn't motivated on their Senior Day...ok...UofL also did pretty well the last time they went against a Muschamp and more importantly a Dan Quinn Defense

On playing in the Georgia Dome: "In my experience we had a home field advantage. Our fans really like us playing there too. Our goal is to start there and finish there, and kids our kids are looking forward to playing a really good team." - Malzahn

Well, that settles it.

How many times do we have to hear this crap about a neutral field being a home field advantage for Auburn? It is a six easy hour drive. Again, they do not call it Catlanta because it is hard for Kentucky people to make the trip.

Ask Jurich to schedule an away game on the plains and see what a home field advantage looks like. UL received and sold 31,000 tix. Why is the excuse machine in high gear for this game?

Was Notre Dame motivated when they lost to Northwestern in South Bend the week before or when they were abused at ASU the week before that? Not sure motivation had much to do with it.

I do appreciate Gus's slam at UL fans. Because that is what he is saying. Our fans are worlds better, so we expect a home feel.

UL sold tix for 1/2 price to its season ticket holder with no limit.

If you remember the Northwestern game Brian Kelly had horrific clock management and they were underdogs on the road at ASU...But they were "motivated" against LSU...just don't give me the motivation line...you step between the lines and you ain't ready you will lose and likely get embarrassed

Louisville will be well respected and I will be watching the National CBS Broadcast at home on the 60 inch flat screen

I remember UL fans saying they should have won at UVA. Same thing, in reverse. UL lost the game and UL fans claimed they were the better team.

And it's an hour and a half drive from auburn. Auburn has one of the most loyal fan bases in America. Did you see how many travelled to pasadena? They consistently average around 90,000 a game. I can almost guarantee that a lot of those Louisville tickets are in Auburn hands now. If you don't think Auburn will have a crowd advantage then you haven't been paying attention.

I do think Auburn will have more fans at the game. I also know Auburn fans who purchased 1/2 price tickets through UL season ticket holders. I know about 15 who did that.

But, that does not mean home field advantage, this hurdle excuse being thrown about by UL fans. And, that is because UL fans let Auburn outnumber them. Many UL fans are not going because they think UL is going to get beat. But, if UL is outnumbered it is not because of geography. Most anyone can travel 6 hours to Atlanta.

Let's see....Auburn has one of the most rabid Football Fanbases in the Nation...only an hour and a half to 2 hours away in a neighboring state...sure Auburn will likely have more fans but Louisville will be very well represented...you can watch it this Saturday for yourself...plus it is going to be nice to have both ESPN & Fox talk about the game on their College Gameday Shows that morning...well over 25K will make the 6 and a half hour drive from Jefferson County to Atlanta.

Nice deflection and FTR Louisville got beat by UVa plan and simple as the same as the 9 other schools Louisville beat in 2014 and the 32 teams Louisville beat the past 3 years...the comment was orginally about Auburn have all these Top 10 Recruiting Classes...responded to the fact that Louisville has already faced similar odds when facing ND & Florida...didn't bother UofL at all and really in hindsight despite Louisville having Recruiting classes ranked from 29th to 52nd they still have more than their fair share of players on NFL Rosters....see it is not so much about some ranking from Rivals, Scout, 247 or ESPN but the hard work and talent evaluation done by both players and coaches...it is about your game not some star ranking...case in point and I will use these as two examples...Jeff Driskel wa considered the better QB coming out of Florida than Bridgewater...2nd example, you had 77 WR In the 2011 Class rated higher than DeVante Parker.

For 2015 we will know more about Louisville by 8pm Saturday Night...enjoy the game...

Yeah but I think there are equal odds that he isn't the real deal. Auburn is not good on defense so if they aren't scoring like Oregon then UL does have a serious shot at this one. Good news will be that so will we.
i agree. i think a whole lot of people are assuming that malzahn is gonna put up points w/o having a cb playing qb. im still not sold on him being cam 2.0. i think they'll be better this year but im not sure they are top 10 good. ul will be a good test for them though. if aub beats them by 20+ then they probably are that good. if it's a close game then they are probably a top 20 team but i'm guessing the D still isn't where they want it to be.
