Auburn Making Coaching Change After NSD

With the transfer portal, it seems really dumb/short-sighted on Auburn's part to think keeping the coach a couple days past signing day will change much. If the kids are die-hard Auburn kids, they aren't going to flip somewhere else. However, for kids really wrestling prior to signing day, they can easily enter the portal.
Every school will now be watching the transfer portal like sharks with blood in the water...
Wonder if T. Manning has a stud OT he was close to on that OLine who may want to join him in Lexington...or stud EDGE or CBs for that matter who want a change in scenery?

Part of it, They wanting to pull a UT, fire with cause. Something to do with a former Boise cheerleader that was employed as his assistant, and got a better paying job as his assistant at Auburn. I let you come up with the duties of the job.

Seriously though - if this was a relationship that started elsewhere and only continued at Auburn, I don't see the issue. If the relationship started at Auburn while he was her boss, then yes it makes sense.
Only spit balling here, but if Harsin chooses to bring at the the time a 23-year old "office staffer" with him cross country I'm thinking it's a good guess these two had something going on before.
However you slice it though, it's a very bad look and seriously, does a Power 5 football program want their Head Football Coach, whose married with three younger kids, knowingly "dicking" around (pun intended) with a young staffer? N-O! From that standpoint, it really doesn't matter where the relationship began or how long it's been going on.
The two parties will have a buyout agreement of some sort.....though it's been reported the university is looking to fire him for cause.
Auburn paid 20+ million to get rid of GM.
There is no other school in the SEC that lets boosters influence everything the fb program does as much as Auburn. Couldn't wait to get rid of Tommy T. , fired Chizick after one bad year, the already mentioned GM. All this to hire this clown. They deserve what they get!

I just have a hunch that if Auburn had won 10 - 11 games this year, this allegation would have never seen the light of day.
No idea why anyone would want to coach there. Those people there are just nuts.
The most dramatic outcome would be Auburn alum, and current Apple CEO Tim Cook, putting some of his vast war chest into paying Nick Saban stupid money to move to his rival.

I did NOT think Saban when trying to come up with where there might be mutual interest.

Going 6-7 at Auburn, they will find some dirt on you. You think if Hugh Freeze had been the coach at Auburn and was winning 10 or 11 games a year and beating Alabama do we believe their fans or admin would care that he was messing with hookers? Not a chance. Auburn has been just as dirty as UT over the years.
Agree. They want him gone otherwise they don't suddenly have an issue with something they surely knew was going on all along. They have someone.

Auburn is classless concerning football, they've always been butt hurt being little brother to Bama and are extremely clickie. They always want one of their own or factions in their alumni go crazy and raise hell until they get him out. I lived in Alabama for several years and I couldn't stand most Auburn fans, very similiar to South Carolina fans or Utee. Cost will never hold them back. Wonder if Urban has been contacted?
This is a story, but there could be more than this. It's way out there, but anything is possible at Auburn. Let's see what the OC has to say that was on the job a few weeks before resigning.
Well there is a reason floating around why this came out now. The last OC didn't resign on his own, allegedly he may have some skeletons in his closet, not the same as head coach skeletons, and was forced to resign, and as a result this story got out. It's a mess there. The one thing that concerns me is they will hire our RB coach as head coach.
If anything I've learned, often where there's smoke, then more smoke some more, then a thicker cloud of smoke, there's usually a fire under. This is at minimum measuring up to looking like it might be the case.
Again, I truly hope not for so many reasons. But the stories out there are already damning.

Been telling you guys this very thing for years. When the NCAA still had a little power, AU's reply was always "PROVE IT" and carried on about their business. Ole Cam was ineligible for about 2 hours on a Friday afternoon. It was determined AU had given his dad 200K and Cam was unaware of it, thus couldn't be punished.
Optics is bad but only if it ever got out. Answer is it depends on how well that coach is doing. If he's doing great, they don't care and this likely never even comes out. If they want rid of him, then stuff like this comes out and they use it to fire him.
Les Miles is a great example. To fire him Kansas used something that was 5+ years old that happened at LSU that apparently everyone already knew when he was hired

He is and his wife wanting out of that area was given early on as a reason to watch this story.
I feel for two guys with UK connection, Mike Hartline and Jimmy Brumbaugh, hired by Auburn recently. Two guys trying to get established in the college game getting tied up with a guy who can't keep his pants zipped.
True that and over the years TN was Snitch Central. Phat worked it like a magician, NCAA would get close to TN and Phat would turn somebody in. Worked like a charm.
