Athletes from 2016-2020 are now able to see what NIL amounts they will get paid

Also, apparently its payable over 10 years time. Some guys are only getting like 75k.

So, like 600 a month. Compared to what some guys are landing now, it's not even comparable.

I don’t really get any of this. Why is 2016 the magical starting year when athletes should supposedly be entitled to this retroactive NIL settlement money? Why not 2015, 14, 13 or any prior year ...weren't they shafted out of the theoretical "what might've been" NIL payout too?

College sports have gone full blown whacko to me.

Yup but I’m guessing there is a statute of limitations or that’s the agreement reached, sucks but they are SOL.

So how far up in the judicial system have these ruling came down.
I know I'm getting into a political area but do all these players rights, NIL cases seem to have the support of our current Supreme Court?

I will never understand any of this. Regardless of whether anyone believes the athletes SHOULD have been allowed to be paid, they CHOSE to take the scholarships and play within the system and rules that existed, under no coercion or duress. In fact, they willfully engaged in the recruitment process, took advantage of the all expenses paid official visits, and made their own choices about which school to attend. They could have gone and done anything else they wanted to in the world, but instead opted to play college sports in exchange for free tuition, housing, food, tutoring, trainers, training facilities, and medical care.

It makes zero sense to me.

Doesn’t have to make sense to you. It was like a 9-0 ruling by SCOTUS.
