Some things I've wondered about , isn't Capel listed as associate head coach ? If K retired wouldn't it be kind of a slap in the face for the associate coach to not take over ? Also do you think K would have major input into whoever is his successor ? Do you think K would recommend someone other than Capel or Wojo ? lol , do feel like you're being interrogated ?
Yes, Capel is the associate head coach. Right now, I think he would get the job if K retired today, but things can definitely change when K decides to retire, which I personally think will be in 5 to 7 years (health and want to permitting). No doubt K will have a major input on who takes over next. He's earned that right given what he's done for Duke basketball. I wouldn't rule out Chris Collins depending upon how he does at Northwestern nor Bobby Hurley depending upon how he does at ASU. Collins' ties to Chicago could help him a lot if he can do well enough at Northwestern (tough job) as K is from Chicago himself and Duke got guys like Jon Scheyer, Jabari Parker and Jahlil Okafor out of the Chicago area. Granted Collins wasn't part of the Okafor recruitment. To answer your last question, I did feel a bit interrogated, but it's fine if it's about a subject I have particular interest in and I feel as though I can answer the question with at least a somewhat intelligent response lol
