Anyone else feel cursed as a UK fan?

For the first time maybe ever he got one of his NBA guys who was hurt to come back and play. You can't tell me he isn't putting forth significantly more effort than he was at UK the last 5 years.
Yup and watch Knox, Richmond, and Wagner all return. Something that never would have happened here ever.

Making the Sweet 16 is a HUGE accomplishment for Arky, for UK, not so much. So let Cal and his crew celebrate that he can beat teams with flaws again as an UNDERDOG. Something that he NEVER could be at UK, no matter how LOW he brought the program!!!

Heck, look at how teams played UK this season with a new coach and a roster full of players from lower level programs!!! STILL packed houses with fired up fans EVERY time we went on the road!!!

Now IF, by some CRAZY twist of fate, he can win these next 2 and make it back to the Final 4, especially if he beats the Gators to get there, I will THEN feel slighted, but NEVER "cursed".

I dislike Cal as much or more than anyone, but to suggest that his team is garbage is simply not true. They won today because Cal started his best players and stayed out of their way. You didn't see him playing head games with his players and trying to make it all about him. The team is very talented and if he stays out of the way, the team could make it to the final 4. His team has the right blend of old and young instead of all one-and-done players. Based on the way his wife was crying, it seems like the tourney and not the NBA does mean something.
Sure didn’t while he was here. The only reason she is crying is because Cal wanted to beat Rick and make a statement. It wasn’t about winning in the tourney. It was about winning for himself and his ego.

Arkansas was called for 24 fouls and St John had 20. The refs did not beat St John, actually the refs let both teams play a. rough game on the rebounding. The refs are currently letting Michigan and aTm play rough as well.
Thanks for setting the record straight. However, the more informed fans of the game know that not all fouls are equal.

We suffered the last 5 years with Cal and now a sweet 16 with a garbage team.
.
If we would have lost yesterday, possibly, yes.

But no, I don’t...

I think what today shows is that Cal was under a lot of self inflicted pressure after the '15 loss to Wisconsin and it built up over several more years until the dam broke. As the self pressure mounted, so did the external pressure and it was just broken. He was not relaxed and those feelings manifested to players.

The reality is he probably didn't lose his fastball as much as we think, but did lose it here and needed a fresh start.

No matter how tomorrow and the rest of the tourney shakes out, him leaving was best for Cal and UK. The relationship had simply run its course.

Troll thread!! I’ve been on here for 17 years. Graduated from UK. you don’t feel cursed with losses in 92, 93, 97, 2003, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019?

The only championship we’ve had to speak of is fencing, Volleyball and track/field.

EXACTLY!!!

This is the VERY reason his daughter was at BOTH of these games.

The ENTIRE Calipari clan is SOOOO hungry to prove that he is still a great coach AND that he got the SHAFT from UK.

So, ANYONE that wants to see him succeed at Arky is basically siding with the Calipari family OVER UK. Not hard to see.

Easier to play and coach at Arkansas with lower expectations.

Cal gets to be the hero.

And being a 10 seed, he doesn’t have the weight of expectation on his shoulders.

Cal excels as the underdog. He rarely got to be the underdog here.

His last title game was as an 8 seed. Think about that.
Where did you get the 8 seed thing from?

I realize KY fans hating on Cal and the Pigs usually feel every foul on St John was a bad call and not nearly enough fouls were called on the Pigs. The thing I noticed was the refs allowed both teams to play football when rebounding. Both team's bigs are probably in a whirlpool as we type.

I also realize that you are just another low-post-count gaslighting poser. Why don't you let go of Cal's sack long enough to go to their message board to post?

I wouldn't call his team garbage. Wagner finally figured out he can use his elite athleticism instead of settling for long 3's, Davis is playing like the highly sought after transfer everyone thought he would be, and Aidoo is a monster down low. If Thiero comes back, they are super dangerous.

As for cursed...absolutely not. We have a promising coach that loves the University of Kentucky and we are still alive in the same tournament that Arkansas is in. Let's win tomorrow and see what happens.

I think we can all agree on that.

That UCLA/Tennessee game is going to be a brawl too. I wonder how that will be refereed.

St Johns shot 28% from the Field and 9% from beyond the arc.

I mean anyone thinking it wasn't St Johns having the worst choking job in history is nuts.... Coach Cal had nothing to do with those numbers.
They defended well all game. It's okay to give credit.

being a lifelong UK fan and proud member of BBN, why would i ever feel cursed
It’s a figure of speech! We suffer every year in Basketball and football! And recently in baseball. Would like to take home a championship every once in a while. I’m blessed to be a UK fan as well, but sometime feel we can’t get a break!

it’s not a garbage team. everyone and their mom knew he’d have a good team for a year or two.

Exactly. I was shocked when they struggled early but they started rolling late in the season and I knew he had a very good team. I expect him to do well "for a year or two" and then he will begin to slide.

He kept Antoine walker on the bench in the sec tourney champ game against miss st 1996 . Win or lose you play team and you play hard if you don't comply you ride the pine under Rick
Pitino lost that game on purpose. We had a 27 game win streak and Pitino thought it would help to go on another run after a loss. It worked.

Yes, and if we're being honest, how hard is it to build a fence?
