Anybody have 2017 recruiting info?

Now that 2016 recruiting is drawing to close....i'm curious about Rafters information in regard to 2017 recruiting? We project to have a CRAP TON of scholarships available. Fox, Monk, Bam, and Gabriel are all projected to be 1 and done. Plus Willis, Hawkins, and Mulder will all graduate. That's 7 very likely scholarship openings.

-So far in regards to guards the only two frequently mentioned guys are Trae Young and Michael Porter Jr. I'm fairly certain that Trae Young is the super priority are PG. In fact i'm not even sure we have identified a back up? We have also been linked to a 5 star SG Diallo out of Connecticut.

-The top of this class is filled with big men. We are actively after both of the top two post men in Ayton and Carter. (not sure if they are mutually exclusive though? Both like to play the Center postion). Just this weekend Billy Preston a top #10 ranked player in 2017 played in KY and announced his mother is a big UK fan. It sounds like we are in great position with him and he is a 6'9 PF.

-At the beginning of the season the rumor was that we were in really good shape with SF Jared Vanderbilt. Haven't heard anything about him since the season started.

- Finally according to Rivals here are the 2017 players with actual offers. Wendell Carter, Trae Young, Mohamed Bamba, Gary Trent Jr., John Petty, Xavier Tilman.

The way Cal recruits you just don't know at this point. This time last year we were expecting Kobi Simmons & Miles Bridges. Bam & Gabriel were pipe dreams & SKJ was going to Virginia.

One thing that makes it so unpredictable is that a lot of times Cal waits to go full force on a kid until late so he has a good idea of who the best players are a la De'Aaron Fox who mad a huge jump after last summer.

So yeah, I know we're high on Vanderbilt & Young. I've heard us associated with Azubuike, John Petty, Billy Preston, Ayton, Duval, etc. But I doubt we'll really have a good feel for the '17 class for a while yet.

Petty is the SF nobody talks about. Got a very early scholarship offer and has spoken highly of UK for a long time. May be hard to get out of Bama with two good recruiters there now but he's a winner. You can see a little of MKG in his game. Personally not a fan of Vanderbilt. Top athlete and passer but an unimpressive shooter.

Carter is #1 in the rankings so that means he is 100% going to Duke.

Also, don't ever pay attention to the offer sheets on Rivals. They're rarely always correct and not often updated.

Thanks for the pro tip! Kinda nervous about going all in on one kid for such an important position. Heck we even recruited Kyrie Irvin and Brandon Knight at the same. It's still super early in the process though so plenty of time to identify other targets.

I'm currently recruiting sienna Miller to my bedroom but I'm hoping to get her in 2016, for 2017 I'm expecting a haul of Kate upton, Jennifer lawerence, and Scarlett johansson as a "package deal."

UK should also probably (you never absolutely know) have Matthews, Tai, Humphries, and SKJ back to help supplement the class of 2017.

Young and Ayton appear to be the must-gets. Petty looks like he strongly favors UK. Get those three guys and return a few and UK will be fine. UK would obviously need a scoring guard.

On that note, I'm not sold on Trent to Duke just yet.

After Bam, you think some folks would learn that nothing is impossible. Every insider said that Bam was a mortal lock to NC State...and they were wrong.

And before you say, "But Duke.."

Go back to Harrison Barnes, who was considered a lock to Duke and flipped to UNC.
