We need things like this to happen and go completely south for the school and donors. That way it escalates the free market correction of nil.

Granted we already saw one very smart correction: most all of the football money is going to upper classmen for transfers or roster retention. Its a much better investment than rolling the dice on freshman.

That said we need more correction still so people stop paying mountains of cash without so much as a commercial or appearance in return.

We will get there. Rich people arent stupid with their money and will eventually realize they should be getting something in return if for no other reason than to trigger a tax deduction, since the irs already gave guidance that gifts to collectives arent tax deductible.

All of this makes me sad. The ridiculous money takes away from the game, at least for me.
