I don't see it as a bad move. If UK was a recruiting juggernaut like Bama or FSU, it could be considered a bad move, but UK had to do everything to show him he was "their guy". UGA did it with Isiah Crowell and it worked out, for a year until he was caught with an altered gun and dismissed, lol. But we showed him he was "our guy". These elite kids have such egos you have to do everything you can to get their attention, unfortunately it wasn't enough for UK this time and that's too bad. But hind sight is always 20-20, and that says UK shouldn't have done that.Originally posted by why_not_kentucky:

You got a point there Deeeee...But never the less had the staff not put all there egg's in one basket for Harris i think we would of had a good shot at Hall.Originally posted by Deeeefense:
If they had simultaneous recruited one or two other running backs, after we missed on Harris the nay sayers would be on here saying the staff made a mistake by not going all-in on Harris.
You probably right, coach's mistake regardless of which direction they went, at least on UGA's board it is.Originally posted by Deeeefense:

I was always told hind sight is 20-20,a lot of posters make this seem true.Originally posted by why_not_kentucky:

I agree Ocats, you either go all in and leave him alone. Right now we are not at the stage where we could look at other good Backs and not feel like it would have hurt us with Harris. Win the games and this memory will be quickly forgotten.Originally posted by O C-A-T-S 06:
You can't not make the best player in the state in years the top priority. Sucks now because Hall seems to be a very solid back, and think if the staff had kept recruiting him he would have been ours. Our backs will be fine though, H***** would have been nice but he was too caught up in his own attention.
LOL! All false. Stoops did not put all his eggs in 1 basket. Early in the recruiting season, Harris was committed to Michigan. Our coaches talked with a lot of running backs including Darrin Hall, Larry Scott, Ke'Shawn Vaughn, others. Hall was recruited by Marrow. Hall had a Kentucky offer on the table but narrowed his list to Michigan State, Minnesota, Pitt before committing to Pitt. When Harris decommitted from Michigan, most thought he would sign with Ohio State. Gradually this became a Kentucky-Alabama battle with almost everyone expecting Harris to sign with Kentucky until Saban flipped him during his visit to the Iron Bowl. Meanwhile Stoops and Marrow took a commitment from Andrew Dowell, a 4 star running back. Many believe Dowell will move to the defense but that was before Harris flipped to Alabama. So Stoops never had all eggs in 1 basket. And Kentucky was never on Hall's short list. All false. The future is bright for our program. It's time for our fans to get over Harris and move on.Originally posted by why_not_kentucky:
