Any update on Canada games for broadcast?

Nobody cares about basketball outside of Kentucky. Especially meaningless games like this. And Kentucky isn't drawing as much as it used to.

Where do you get this info? The Bahamas trip was sold out. The London trip was sold out. The Canada games trip package that includes tickets is sold out.

Just try to get lower level tickets for the SEC. Or for the game in Chicago this year. We can't make Canada so I'll pay whatever it takes to watch.

If I didn't have a prior engagement I would be in Canada to watch live. You obviously haven't gone to any of these if you think UK is not a draw.

You could go the IPTV route and get Sportsnet.

But honestly you could more than likely still watch these games on the web for free by finding a Sportsnet stream :)

We're talking about TV here. The question was asked why ESPN wouldn't broadcast it since UK should be a big draw.

But just watch a few games on TV. Most of the arenas are pretty empty. And Rupp has less and less each year.

The only thing going right now is literally baseball. You can't tell me there wouldn't be draw for CBB a few months early. Especially over some MLB cellar dwellers.
I know it's not for you, but golf continues to be way more popular than the credit you give it.

But yes Kentucky fans alone would give this as good or better ratings than some of the second rate stuff they're showing.

ESPN ... no.

SEC Network ... absolutely.

All I know so far this is extremely disappointing. We all don't live in Kentucky either. I would imagine our team would want us to watch them.

I would have imagined/expected the Athletic Department to have communicated how fans could watch these Canada games if that information was available. To me, the fact that it hasn’t (as far as I know) means this information has not yet been fully determined, or the Athletic Department is entirely asleep at the wheel.

I’ve found myself more and more uninterested in watching stuff before the actual games start- BBM, Blue/White, and international games. So I don’t see myself going out of my way, or paying anything, to watch these games. I’m sure it’d be fun to go in person, though.

UK had 4 of the Top 10 most-watched college basketball games on TV last year. The most of any team.
So what? Being the best of something not so good isn't significant. Ratings have been declining forever. And I already said outside of UK, nobody cares.

I would assume they will tell us exactly how to watch the games, even if we ultimately have to pay

what about radio broadcast? seems most radio stations stream nowadays...i'd listen just to a radio.

Listening to Jack Pilgrim at Peach Jam this morning. Repeated there's some talk about the games being streamed on espn+ 'but nothing confirmed yet.'

I know folks love golf, and I don't have anything against that. I just can't watch it on TV man. It's a snooze fest. Now if it's like the Masters or something, I don't mind. But just a random tourney? Meh.

Now in person? I could stand it better.

I understand that you don't get into it, the problem is when you extrapolate it out across to everyone else. It is as popular as it's ever been since the prime Tiger era right now. I'm sort of with you, I don't get into rando tournaments. But there are 4 majors a year + a handful of other really entertaining events (TPC, Arnold Palmer, etc). That's a lot of good golf to watch. And in a lot of ways it's better to watch on TV than it is live. The ambiance of being there live is awesome, but you miss so much golf. You can only watch one hole at a time and follow one group at a time, and even then you are fighting for a good spot if you are trying to move from hole to hole. On TV you can follow everyone and not miss a shot. I like going to see the atmosphere, but there are a lot of advantages to watching it on TV instead.
