Right now LeBron is a top 10 player in the league. Arguably top 5.
Father Time is undefeated. But LeBron is making him work.
Me2 and the product is garbage and I'm a Lakers fan. Thought AD needed away from LeBron and being paired up with Kyrie isn't a bad start over for him. He also has a better roster in Dallas. Now for LeBron is it enough to keep him in LA or does he make it to Golden State this week. Alot of backdoor chatter that Lakers are gonna pull another trade sending LeBron away to play with Steph for 2 years to finish thier careers. Lakers get thier superstar and move away to rebuild whenever and Mavericks are happy. Golden States roster is garbage though and Lakers might bet willing to play the LeBron circus a few more years if he's good with it.Reading on the Lakers board about a few clashes between AD in LeBron last few weeks over the kids playing time.

What's with the Lakers? They seem to wind up with the best players. i.e. Shaq, Kareem, Jerry West, Magic, A.D., and Lebron + more I can't remember. They get the beat players in excange for a retirement ready player and a couple of 2nd or 3rd team neverheardofs. Jerry West must be a heck of a "trader" or has something on these other managers. Something smells fishy to me..

Yeah and I know Harden receives a lot of criticism but he is quietly leading the Clips to a good season without Kawhi for most of it.

Obviously I'm a harden fan, somewhat. He's been pretty low key the last year or so. I think some criticism of him was warranted.. but some of it wasnt.
I think the GM is just an idiot.
Everything they're saying sounds like they know they'll have to give Luka a super max extension in the off-season. They have concerns about his defense and conditioning--and because of that they don't want to make him the face of the franchise.
I'll say, he got eaten alive in the Finals this past season. His defense was awful. But...he carried them to the Finals. Dude is an MVP candidate EVERY SEASON. Virtually every other team would take Luka as the face of their franchise.

It may have changed but when he Initally sold for 3.5 billion of his majority stake he still retained a 27% ownership share and remained in control of basketball operations. That may have just been while the new owners figured out what structure they wanted though. It appears he did eventually step out of day to day roles last year so he had no say in this trade. I think new ownership is dumb for this.

This, plus Luka has only played more than 70 games once in his career. So with Luka you are certain he will sit out 20% of the games. Right now he hasn't played since Christmas because of a "strained" calf. Hell, he rarely ever even runs! Davis is one of the top 5-10 players in the league right now, probably the best two way big man. At least "The Brow" plays when he is healthy. The "D" is back in Dallas.
Whenever I hear of another Anthony Davis injury I think of how lucky we were that Davis got up after that injury vs Baylor in the Elite Eight.

I don’t know why you’re getting so worked up and seemingly upset whenever someone mentions his past injury issues.
Yes, he’s a great player and has had a great career, but it’s also been a highly injury prone career. In 13 seasons in the NBA he’s only had three where his “games played” number even crossed the 70 barrier. That a friggin lot of missed games.
Dallas is 26-24 "with" Luka this season. I think they will do better than that with AD, even if he misses a few games.
Right now I can see Lebron getting traded but I could see him going to San Antonio. San Antonio has the young players and draft picks to get him and him and Fox would make them title contenders this year and probable favorites next year. Then Lebron retires and they have cap room to replace him with a max free agent.
Luka is sitting on the bench next to a babbling LeBron and he looks like it's the last place he wants to be. Totally disinterested. Has to be angry. What a disrespectful trade. Niko must be either racist or didn't want to pay him the SuperMax contract. Probably both.

There's been some interesting reporting basically saying the owners agreed then when the sale went through kicked Mark to the curb. He currently has no official role with the team and the NBA recently told him to stop sitting behind the Mavs bench at away games.
I went to the game in Dallas on Saturday wearing my UK gear to support "The Brow" and PJ. In the first half, when AD, PJ and Mavs rim protector Gafford were healthy, the Rockets scored 48 on 33% fgs, and were having trouble even getting a shot off. PJ sprained his ankle late first half, and AD tightened up at half and is now out indefintely. Then Gafford sprained his knee in the first half of the next game and is out indefinitely. I was pumped about the potential of that team with AD instead of Luka.

Cuban had nothing to do with the trade. That's why he's pissed. They did it without his input, and he is supposed to be head of basketball operations, even though he is no longer majority owner.

Yep. I saw where Cuban said if a staffer came to him with an idea of trading Luka, he would fire them on the spot. He was floored by the trade.
I'm definitely in the minority opinion, but I was tired of watching Luka ball. He constantly dominates the ball, so there is very little movement. He incessantly whines to the refs about every call. He is below average at best defensively. But he is a brilliant offensive player, no disputing that.
AD can dominate a game on defense still, when healthy. He can get almost the same numbers as Luka on offense, minus the assists. This other kid, Max Christie, that the Mavs got is a star in the making: 17 pts 5 reb 3 ast since trade, and a really good on ball defender.
