You know, sometimes, just very rarely and occasionally, does the universe give back to those of us that really deserve it.
I count myself as one of those lucky people today. I guess I'm easily amused by things that apparently don't (or maybe shouldn't?) matter ?
I never needed John Calipari to come here to Kentucky and tell me what mattered as a Kentucky fan. Not the NBA draft nor as far as the SEC tournament is concerned. He was hired to WIN. Period. So he got off to the wrong start with me. I laugh at the ending and to see what fate will befall him in the NCAA tournament this year. I'll watch every second.
To those of us he labelled his "basketball Bennies" .... we know far more about basketball than he ever would like to admit we do. That's why we're critical of him and that's why we've been right about him and where he is at right this very instant.
Coach Rupp said : No coach has a monopoly on the knowledge of basketball.
There are no secrets in the game. The only secrets, if there are any, is good teaching of sound fundamentals,
Intelligent handling of men, a sound system of play, and the ability to instill in the boys a desire to win.
