Andy Kennedy started at Ole Miss in 2006.

John Calipari started at Kentucky in 2009.

I'm posting this not to belittle Andy Kennedy but rather to show just how amazing Cal's run has been here so far. He's about to catch arguably Ole Miss' best basketball coach ever in wins in THREE less seasons.

I bet if you looked into it Calipari would have to be in the top 5 for fastest to 200 wins at any school in history.

well Cal hasn't lost 47 games at Kentucky so I guess you can put him ahead of Mark Few then.

I thought maybe Roy Williams would be close but he was 200-56 at UNC when he won his 200th game there.

i think cal is averaging 26 wins/year career. 13th all time at 78%, right between james freeman and francis schmidt, per sports-reference.com. very impressive for a modern era coach, considering how many more good programs there are nowadays, and how competitive the recruiting has become.

If Cal didnt have that One down year when Noel was hurt we would of been celebrating this maybe last season. It still goes to show how impressive Cal is.

Some were asking if Cal was the fastest to 200 wins at a single school and it looks like he would be second fastest with a win tomorrow, per CoachCal.com.

Still impressive to do what Kennedy has done at Ole Miss
Agreed. That's what makes the stat amazing to me. Kennedy is arguably the best coach in Ole Miss history and Cal is going to catch him in wins in 3 less years. Kennedy has only had two seasons at Ole Miss with less than 20 wins.

I believe that Mark Few has the record for quickest to 200 wins at a school having done it in 247 games. If we can win tomorrow then Cal will have done it in 239 games. Also, Cal will have won 200 games in just 7 seasons which will also a record I believe (it took Few 7 full seasons and was 18 games into his 8th season to get to his 200th win, Cal could possibly do it in 6 full seasons and 11 games into his 7th season ).

See my post above from CoachCal.com: Clair Bee at LIU-Brooklyn has the record from 1931-41 (231 games). Calipari would be the 2nd fastest.
