Man, if Pope can get both him AND Folguieras as the PFs, that would be incredible...both guys would fill the stretch PF perfectly, and it would give solid, productive depth.

I get the feeling Alvaro and this Croatian guy or Alvaro and another big might be all we add. I don’t feel as good about Pierre and Yates anymore
Think that makes logical sense.
Predominantly comes down to whether you have faith in Jasper as a 20+ minute guy next year. If you do, then you can put Oweh/Chandler/Kam Williams out there for the other minutes at that spot and be more than fine.
If you don’t trust Jasper then you probably need some more firepower there.
I’ll say, my assumption has been that he’s getting paid like we should trust him.
2 4 men and a developmental 13th guy makes by far the most sense to me personally.
I just think he is gonan trust Chandler. I really want one of Pierre/yates, but I just don’t get the vibes either one happens now. I hope I’m wrong though
It does seem they are wanting another wing/shooter...however, if this Croatian guy has enough lateral quickness (not sure he does), maybe you could get away with adding only him and Folgueiras. If they had to be on the floor together (foul trouble, injuries, etc), Jelavic could defend the opposing SF with Folgueiras guarding the PF... similar to Trey Lyles playing the SF on the 2014-2015 team
Agreed. I just don’t know what you’re selling them on without essentially planning on injuries.
To be fair and hold Pope to the highest standard, somehow Oats did that this year at Alabama. There were legitimate players that committed to him with no possibility of really playing this year.
But who knows with this staff. No qualms with the results but the public direction has been questionable throughout the portal imo.
My bet on a guard add would be a Ansley Almonor type. A senior at a low level of D1 that would rather be part of something at UK for a bit more change than going to Sienna while going to UK to be depth and a veteran mentor. But what do I know!

Putting not great shooters around a non shooting point guard seems strange.
I’m not mad brother, I was just joking around. Hard to feel context over message I know, but I’m just trying to have a little fun. I’ll try to be more cautious moving forward!
I guess I still don't see why people think we don't have room.
We are losing 4 guards (Brea, Robinson, Kriisa and Butler) and only have 3 replacements so far (Lewis, Jasper & Lowe) and 2 of those 3 replacements are freshman.
Not to mention, we haven't even come close to fully replacing the shooting gaps left by Robinson and Brea.
Our crop of guards right now will struggle to shoot the ball at a high enough rate to fit what Pope wants to do.
There seems to be a definite and absolute need for another guard right now.
I know very little about Jelavic, but being that he plays for Mega that at least makes my ears perk up as I belive Mega has become the European club with the most players drafted into the NBA. Mega stats the last two seasons were:

Said to be a second round pick in 2025. Good things about him is that he is 'adequate' in shooting, rebounding, ball handling, defense and has potential as a stretch four among a few other things. Negatives are he loses focus on defense at times, is a streaky shooter and needs to improve range with consistency. Basically said he is and overall good player but needs to get better at most things. Considered a role player when gets to the pro's.
Hilarious who wants to pay 3 Million for a player coming off an injury and wasn't really good when he played.
I get it. But Lewis Lowe. Jasper, Oweh, Chandler and Williams. It’s just hard seeing another guard being thrown in that grouping
I can see Chandler taking a big step forward next year and being a consistent part of the rotation.
Yep, I kind of chuckle every time I see people write up their mock rotations and Chandler is like the 12th man. Not happening. Will be a big part of plans this year.
I keep thinking that CMP has 1 or 2 more guys he's in with and is being very quiet about things for a reason. I get the sneaky suspicion that he's going to have a surprise or 2 left for us that will please us very much.
Just gotta be patient with the process. Things have shaped up fine already.
The returning pieces with the lineup we already have looks good to me. A few roster spots that can be filled and we're good to go.

That’s why I struggle to see Yates or Pierre being added now
Pope is trying hard with them though. We need another proven scorer.
I’ve been on the PF more needed kick for awhile now. We already have a lot of guards who need minutes and that can make it hard to attract a guy.
Jasper and Oweh are gonna those guys. Williams will also take a jump. I would gladly take Pierre and Yates, but it just doesn’t make sense really
The 4 spot is a glaring need. Alvaro and Croatian guy, or maybe a surprise portal entry who knows
Jasper is a total unknown at this point. As we have seen with Cal some fresh are great and some overwhelmed.
Matt Jones did say they would be adding a shooter though. Wonder if that changed

I think it's clear that Williams is probably going to serve that Almonor type of stretch 4 role, maybe sometimes playing the 3 but not as much.
Jasper and Lewis are complete unknowns. We can't go into the year relying on Oweh and Lowe being the only 2 upperclassman perimeter guys on the roster, that would be malpractice.
NEED another guy on the perimeter who can put the ball in the bucket.
Didn't say it wasn't, but I'm not going to make a thread for every tweet just because someone tweets it. It being on Twitter doesn't make it more factual.
