Gerald Fitch is one of my all time favorites. Now that he is in coaching he would also be a great mentor of young men and also wore the uniform with great pride.

One more but it appears we have our recruiters. Is the staff complete now?
Pope could do way worse than Sean Woods. Overachiever as a UK player, former head coach, master of the point guard position.Derek Anderson or Sean Woods
Damn that would be G…Fitch was the man !!Gerald Fitch is one of my all time favorites. Now that he is in coaching he would also be a great mentor of young men and also wore the uniform with great pride.

He could easilySupposedly, he's already signed his NLI. He could possibly get out of it, but I'm not certain.
Because we’re pretending that Mark Fox isn’t Bruiser Flint part 2. He nailed the 3 other coaches tho.Cal would hire two guys to recruit. One to yell at. And one to sit there and chew gum.
I love this approach so much more.
Complete opposite of the last regime.Looks like we have 3 young hungry assistants .
I love it
I’m not sayin he will even entertain it but we did go after him as well and have his recruiter so it’s not like it couldn’t happen. Let’s see what’s up.We aren't getting him, no way. I also didn't expect that so I am not disappointed.
Fox seems like a guy who will excel at off court issues like NIL to me. Paperwork type dude. I honestly think Bruiser chews gum and talks to Cal and that’s it.Because we’re pretending that Mark Fox isn’t Bruiser Flint part 2. He nailed the 3 other coaches tho.
Don’t forget the strip clubs, right @ralphdaltonfan ?Fox seems like a guy who will excel at off court issues like NIL to me. Paperwork type dude. I honestly think Bruiser chews gum and talks to Cal and that’s it.
I've heard that no school is going to force XYZ player to attend if they don't want to do so, but has any player just backed out of their NLI like that with no extenuating circumstances? He could easily
I'm noticing a positional pattern....
Hope so.Pope is crushing this part of things. Love this staff he’s putting together. He’s laying groundwork that will pay dividends for years to come in a way Cal never really seemed to grasp.
not allowed to even talk to him until he is let out of his NLI from Baylor he signed about a week ago. Will Edgecomb come to UK... ????
Not a head coaching change but he could easily claim he commited there because of the assistant. Besides no school want the issue of forcing a player to stay, it would crush future recruiting and probably open litigation these days.I've heard that no school is going to force XYZ player to attend if they don't want to do so, but has any player just backed out of their NLI like that with no extenuating circumstances?
Yes, Alvin got got by Pope, but that's not a head coaching change. Unless he has a sick aunt nearby, I don't think he has the family angle, either. Just curious how it could be done easily.
I looked at Fox's off court history. You are right. Very smart and energetic guy.Fox seems like a guy who will excel at off court issues like NIL to me. Paperwork type dude. I honestly think Bruiser chews gum and talks to Cal and that’s it.
I don’t think a player has to have any particular angle. They can just ask to be released, and the school can either choose to grant the release, or not. These days, it seems schools don’t make a scene over such things… makes for bad press, whether it’s right or wrong.I've heard that no school is going to force XYZ player to attend if they don't want to do so, but has any player just backed out of their NLI like that with no extenuating circumstances?

He's already in the front office at OKC. I think he has future GM/VP etc. written all over him at the pro level. I don't see him going back to the college ranks.
I don't want Champs! I'm a Diaper Dandy man!Because, as we all know so well, the only thing that ever went through and still goes through Cal's mind in all phases of his "coaching" is "DRAFT....DRAFT.....GOTTA GET THESE KIDS TO THE DRAFT.....DRAFT.....BUH BUH DRAFT....HUHUHUH DRAFT!!
He's the equivalent of Everett McGill in Oh Brother Where Art Thou?, except instead of "my hair", Cal wakes up every morning blurting out "my draft!".

I think we need one more hire.
Rumor is they would like to add one former UK guy but I am not sure who.
I didn't think Fox was in a GM position. My understanding was he was a non-recruiting assistant brought in for x's and o's and specifically defense.I think the staff position that most people were thinking for Nazr is actually the spot that Fox took - the "GM" type role for the program.
He had some domestic violence reports/concerns. Mitch wasn't allowed to interview Beard or Pearl due to their pasts. I have my doubts Rondo is going to get the clear from the higher up's in the university.Rajon Rondo is on campus taking classes...
He's got a lot of irons in the fire though, podcasts, coaching his kids travel teams, completing degree...
If he is interested, he's the guy. Dude is well regarded as a savant by all his NBA peers.

There was a lot of chaff on Twitter about him having the GM/NIL position. At least when he was first hired. Maybe it was the Bruiser comment people made or something else.I didn't think Fox was in a GM position.
